That was... An interesting game. Gg Vito, I definitely sold out to stop the run and it looked like it worked. Was hoping you wouldn't let Bailey air it out more in anticipation. Really interesting how Manns missed the xp to ensure bets didn't push at -5...

Also just have to say, what's the deal with Fargo and turnovers... Yikes

Good game man.

GG Boston, even without the final pick 6 you won the 4th quarter in a big way. Bet you were happy to see the success you had running.

Another game where we are great on a per play basis but situational football was pretty poor. Beyond the TOs there is plenty we should do better: only 2/6 on 3rd in the air, no pass rush, gave them 3 1st via penalty. And another big play allowed on D in the 4th was what really marked the difference in my mind. Overall O haven't been impressed with the results of our switch to a 43 this year as the run D gas suffered a good bit and the rush is very inconsistent despite near perfect bars.

I thought former Sodbuster S Manning would have a big game against us but it was our other former player Fitzmaurice generating 6 pressures on less than 20 rushes for Boston.

Best of luck Slim, you guys obviously have the bars and it would seem you are telling at the right time.

Post subject:  Vampires score late, quash Outlaws comeback 20-16

Detroit, MI -- The Vampires and Outlaws were deadlocked on the ground and it was up to QB Devan Mitchem to break the game open. Mitchem connected with Marsh on two crucial third downs during the game-winning drive that ended with WR Grady Stevenson's 18 yard TD reception, sending the Detroit Vampires to the top of the Great Lakes with a 20-16 win over the Los Angeles Outlaws on Sunday.

The Outlaws were determined to stop two guys, RB Antonio Marsh and WR Von Wyss, by stacking the box and disguising coverages to double Von Wyss. Mitchem caught on to some of their plan and called out of several run plays, but he still targeted Von Wyss 24 times.

"What can I say? Rusty is a phenomenal talent and plays a huge part in this offense. He's not just going deep, but he's at the line catching screens too. He wanted the ball today and if not for LA's corners he would've had an even bigger game," Mitchem said after the game. "They found a way to take away some of the stuff we like to do, but that opens opportunities for other guys."

Los Angeles scored first on the ground, with Detroit looking sluggish against RT Elijah Murphy and RB Richie Arnold picking up 67 yards and a TD. The Detroit offense looked equally slow, but defensive penalties made up for the lazy start and a response from RB Marsh equalized the score at 7-7. Both teams would struggle to find any form on the ground as the defenses tightened up but Von Wyss took over and took a short screen to the house right under the defense's nose.

Detroit would hold onto a 14-13 lead going into the fourth quarter, but LAS ILB Chad Woodling jumped a short throw to Von Wyss and returned an interception to the DET 13. Down 2 points, Mitchem and the Vampires marched down the field but just at the edge of field goal range, a penalty and a drop forced the punt. DE Scott Gradkowski got home for the game's first sack on Roger Bailey and gave Detroit one last chance with 2 minutes left.

CB Kevin Rector made two huge plays to break up passes to Von Wyss and Voinovich, but the defensive hero dropped back on 3rd and 10 and gave up a RB Marsh 30 yard catch and run. The next two plays would be foiled again, but RB Marsh found another soft spot to keep the drive alive. A field goal was all they needed, but at the LAS 18, Mitchem found WR Stevenson slipping behind the defense for the game winner.

Both teams were able to come away without any serious injuries and with playoffs in their sights, that's a victory in itself. LAS heads to TUC to punch their ticket to week 18 while DET goes on to face a KCY that could be more trouble than they're worth.

Sorry Dean. GG

We managed to hold you to only 2 TD and 3 FG with your 5 RZ trips and my guys made plays. Lodge was running like his younger self and Kemp pulls down the game winning hailmary as the clock expires.

GG JJ,

Quick rant: I hate how the TE is basically impossible to double!! I wanted to double him in the 122 formation, doubled 'second best' and the double goes to the X receiver who has a 68 route running compared to the TE with a 95 RR. TE Duran caught 5 or 6 of his team leading 9 catches in the 122. I hope they fix this in the next release, because imo its one of the most unrealistic parts of the game. No team would continue to double the wrong guy the entire game, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Besides that, very exciting game. You guys are a really good team. We've been chugging along with our QB replacement and he's been playing decent. We lost the turn over battle today, and in a 3 point game that makes all the difference.

After going up 14-3 Omaha stole all the momentum with scoring twice in under a minute...ouch!

Good luck the rest of the season you have some play makers on the offense.

It would be nice if we could have more control over who are the best and 2nd best receivers but they'll need to be pretty careful with how they implement it...
Maybe just a checkbox called "Count TEs as receivers" or something?

My rough approx is you take the RR of a TE and times it by .8 but I am not sure how close that is to the truth. If it is close at all, better to just not double IMO.

GG Dizzman...

You stuffed the run pretty good, but Porto had a great game and we blocked the tying FG at the end of regulation. Should have been an OT shootout.

One game to go.... Can't let the Pride take the belt..... Just can't. It's ours to lose this year. Hey NO, why don't you rest some vets and play some rooks...

I always thought a TE RR was about 20% of a receivers as well. That's not the case if the double went to a WR with 68rr... No more double TE's for me.

No worries and gg bbriders,

Other than injuries...Brawlers lost a couple. QB Hughes played well despite the injury...wondering if he would play. Lodge was a great RB and was fun to see him run again even at Brooklyn's expense. Tough game to lose, but we have won a few of those games the last couple weeks. Like my high school football coach always said, "you gotta win the close ones!"

GG San Antonio. We took advantage of England being out to get the win. My guess is we don't win this one if he is in there as the 2 Ints my defense reeled in were probably the difference. Thankfully his injury is a calf strain so he should bounce back for you next year.
