That was absolutely crushing considering how much gameplanning I invested in this new attack.

GG Hon

every time I put the game in Bailey's hands he turns the rock over. Same ole' Outlaws.

Rookie QB had a chance to get a comeback victory in his first start. He didn't choke. We just ran out of time. Gg, Smitty.

Really good defensive effort wasted by us... poor gameplan + horrible qb play = L

only touchdown given up was a pick-6 jaycutler/jameiswinston style

back to the drawing board... Denver tried to give us the game by getting penalized every play..

good game Denver

At MIA to open the season. We own their 1st roudner so stakes are higher than usual. Having owned Jessie Hughes' since he came into the league we gotta feel good but MIA is rock solid on D and there is always a chance with us that we ahve 3 or more TOs of our own.

WR Fence bailed us out of a 3rd and 19, the running game go t40 yards and then we hit the vet on a fade from the slot to get our opening TD. MIa flips the field on us and we get soem yardage but punt it away. The ageless TE Seeley rips off a chunk for MIA but Alexander comes off the edge to force a strip sack which we recover. We get Crabtree involved with 3 downfield completions before pounding it in from inside teh 10.

A poor kickoff leads to a short field and in 3 plays MIA pulls back to within 7. We throw an arm punt on a 3rd and long but another 3rd and long sack for our D means no points for MIA. More struggles in pass pro for us and another nice ST win for MIA is negated by our D. We get our own nice PR and hit our TE deep on 3rd and short but are stumped with a 2nd and goal form teh 1 and opt for 3 points. A pick for our D in the last 30 seconds is turned into 3 more points.

Up 13 at the half is good. Both Qs are taking a beating and ST coverage has been atrocious. MIA is 0/4 on 3rd and we have run 41 plays to their 20.

3andO for MIA and Crabtree helps us get downfield and we get yet another FG to go up 16. Hughes recovers though and spreads it all over the yard to get MIA back to 9 points down. We keep 4 3rd and 10+s in imrobable fashion and go back up 16 near the end of the 3rd.

Back to back INTs slow things down and MIA is using YAC to get into our RZ but we tighten up there and they settle for 3 just inside of 10 minutes. We pin them deep and take 3 minutes off the clock and then recover a fumble to pretty much ice things.

Well we haven't changed much it woudl seem, explosive passing with plenty of negative plays. We were over 50% on 3rd which was defintiely the difference in this one. Our runing game wasn't the machine we woudl like but added yards as needed. Tackling receivers was oru biggest weakness as MIA was over 5 YAC / catch. Alexander had a nice stat lien with 8.5 dropbacks disrupted with a it of everything. MIA's secondary had the 2 picks but otherwise were outplayed by oru receivers when ou rpass pro held up and we went 6/8 deep. MIA was plagued by drops and only went 1/9 in the intermediate range.

And once more, somehow we get a half dozen guys Tired after one game when no one was tired before the game.

Good game Steel, note to self "Throw away this defensive gameplan" another note to self, "I know nothing about defensive gameplans"

Your Rookie QB is going to be amazing and we got very lucky the clock ran out.

We have alot of work to do on defense but our offense looked top notch again which is nice.

The Good: Offense cranked out 457 yds, 296 on the ground. Kelley completed nearly 70% of his passes.

The Bad: 10 penalties, 3 turnovers, including a fumble at the 2 yd line. Missed 34 yd FG. No TDs in 5 trips in the red zone.

So need to look at that RZ gamelan. Frustrating game. GG Death Valley. We'll see if we can have our shit somewhat together by the time you visit us.

Well fumbling the opening kickoff and giving up a TD two plays later is never a good sign !! By 10 minutes into the game we were down by 16 points, the team played hard the rest of the way but the early lead was too much to over come on the road at a division rival, turnovers didn't help anything either. If the Owner / GM would have not forgot the head coaches game plan on his computer and down loaded it maybe we would have had a better outcome. I always knew he was the problem here.

GG King K.

The undefeated pre-season form continued for Kansas in a nail-biter with the winning TD at 0:40 secs left in the 4q. 19-20.

Cleveland 1st round pick RB Mansour with a big game. 90 on the ground and 66 in the air.

Kansas RG Evans with two penalties - both resulting in a TD to be called back - - - 30 yards and 31 yards...

Kansas Block:
RG Evans...

Next up Fargo!

Funny thing - Among my tired players are DB Faylor, eventhou Faylor was inactive for the Cleveland game....

Another Shreveport/Tennessee classic - which typically means that the over/under of 30 points paid on the under. This one had a little bit of everything:

1. 12 penalties a piece, including one (each) penalty-nullified TD ending up in field goals.
2. A missed field goal
3. Both teams each failing to reach 300 total yards and each failing to reach 200 passing yards.
4. A 40-yard pass play in the final 2 minutes with a Intentional Face Mask thrown on top.
5. A couple of INT's and a fumble.
6. A lot of chasing the opponent's QB all over the backfield and the downfield.

Happy we came out on the right end of this one. Our new ball-control offense was able to grab a 35/25 time of possession advantage, which I'm thrilled about.

Sorry about the injury to Picton (not really), but looking through the play-by-play he was injured on an INT return for the Pride. I'm assuming S Sean Macklin "blocked" Picton after the pick. On the pick, Efrain Tate jumped a route by former teammate, Buddy Harden. That route looked familiar. ;)

 Great start to a new season!

GG Turftoe. I fmy Qb hadn't thrown a pick, who knows what the turnout would've been. My 2nd year RB breaking off a 75 yd TD run on the first offensive play was nice too. My team was surprisingly better than I thought. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

GG RH...

Good Lord! That was not the start we were looking for.....

What an ugly game. Too many penalties on both teams and a bunch of injuries....

The Picton injury really sucks. We had altered our playbook substantially for him. Back to the drawing board....Guess I'll have to be an active planner each week.

Zenzog....
I don't think this eliminates us from the playoffs yet, so hold those candles steady, but don't light them quite yet. :?

 I wish those sacks would have equated to a W for us. You guys shut down our running game very nicely and I think that killed us.

I was fairly happy with a lot of what we were able to do today but we have got to be more efficient on offense. We didn't capitalize on a lot of opportunities - after watching the game I felt like the scoreboard didn't reflect what I watched.

Our first defensive play of the game (and season) went like this:

1-10-TUC25 (1Q: 11:46) Duane Johnson ran around the left tackle for 75 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Key block delivered by Eli Hayes.

We gave up 19 on another run, so the remaining 12 attempts for 33 yards was more than I could have hoped for the rest of the game against a stud like the Rock.

Tuscon's o-line did a great job against our front seven today, but unlike the offense our defense was pretty efficient and was the reason for our win today.

Next week will be quite a challenge this early in the season but I'm looking forward to it.

Your DEF was stout, that's for sure. That 75 yarder was an outlier from the stat sheet, for sure. I think my O-Line is getting it together, we'll see the rest of the season. I'm shooting for moderate improvement over the last two seasons.

Good luck next week.

GG Marven,

Missing two field goals early I thought for sure would come back to bite us in the ass. And it was a very close game, being up by only 1 with 11 seconds left. Two fourth quarter kicks at 48 and 43 hopefully gave my kicker a confidence boost going into next week.

34 year old qb Jimmy Marischen is still lighting it up on the ground, decent day throwing as well. Isn't it time for him to retire already! I still have divots on my turf from him 10 years ago.

Going 1-0 in the division against such an excellent team helps us a lot there's no doubt. On to next week at Shreveport.

Good luck the rest of the season Marvin

Anybody else notice that the 1.1 pick from this year's draft got Offensive Player of the week this week? Scary if he can keep up that performance.

The status of being tired after week 1 is an accumulation of what happened in preseason. Don't ask why it's setup that way, but I know it is.

GG RedStorm44.

That game was closed.
I was pleased with the defense but the offense was a mixed bag.

Cory Hartsock's play is the good example of a so-so performance: 7 catches for 9 targets 91 yds but the only 2 drops for the team and a costly fumble after a 37 yds reception. In his defense our running game was non-existent.
