Against SCZ in what should be an easy win but we will make it hard for sure.

We run in high volume early and get a FG but SCU answers with an their own impressive drive before coming up short in the RZ to tie it up. We again pound our way but then punt and our run D cranks up the intensity, doesn't help though as SCU keeps converting 2nd and 3rd and long on YAC until they don't and get another FG. SCU is moving on the 2m drill but we pick him again. Fence gets a couple chunks for us but we run outta time and settle for the FG to go up 7.

SCU is at 13 YPA but also has the 2 picks, both teams are running a good bit but not fo rimpressive averages as plenty of tackles are being made behind the LoS.

QB Upshaw dodges pressure once more on 3rd and short and finds Sanderson and they throw a failed completion on 3rd at midfield. We can't convert either and SCU only needs oen big YAC gain to get back to the orange zone, Upshaw converts one more and then faces a 4th and 1 at our 19 and they opt to kick. The run game is dry but Mitchem hits a few intermediate throws on 3rd before finding Holzer in the endzone.

SCU gets a nice KR, Upshaw uses his legs to get them downfield a couple times and they get their TD plus 2 on a short pass to make it a 3 point game with 9 minutes left. We have a ncie balanced attack to get us to their 10 and Crabtree takes a screen to the endline for a 2 score advantage with under 5 minutes left. Upshaw jsut won't stop etting completions nad YAC though so they are quickly at our 11 and for some reason run it 3 times get the FG but now there is just 1:30 left. And they kick it deep. They get it back with 50 ticks left but can't move it much.

Tough luck on the weird AI decisionmaking SCU at the end there. Really impressive performance from you guys tha I was not expecting.

We played both the rookie LT and our future starter at G and it showed in teh run game I believe.

Not sure how we gave up more than 8 YAC/catch but the 2 INTs got su back in the game and both our WRs went over 100 yards as our pass pro helped us dominate the intermediate range we like so much so using that pass protecting line did have its advantages I guess.

Mitchem converts a 3 tough 3rds before Holzer pounds it in. And rookie sensation takes an intermediate pass 74 yards for the TD to put SCU back on top. We go backwards but get our own big play in a pick 6.

GG - Steel.

Another Defensive battle. We had our opportunity to win it and credit to the Durham defense for stopping it. We got the ball to our best receive inside the red zone on the last play of the game, but he wasn't able to make enough moves to get it to paydirt.

You know it's a defensive battle when the MVP is a kicker . . .

Good luck the rest of the way.

It's Tennessee Week! Rumors have it that all the WalMarts in Shreveport have sold out of brooms.

GG Ush,
The offense finally comes alive but cannot convert TDs in the red zone. Frustrating. Upshaw played a heck of a game given it's his 2nd week with the team. The back to back picks were killer, but that's SCU ball I guess.

I'd really like to know how with my CBs we give up two WRs going over 100 yds. Defense has always baffled me in this game.

For one game we went toe to toe with one of best in the league, I'll take a moral victory on this one.

GL the rest of the way Ush, hell of a team you have there.

GG Smitty..... Interesting offensive GP.... it seemed to work pretty well in the first half. We finally caught on a bit late...

Good Game Aamalin,

Yeah, I try changing it every week to the defense I'm playing. Some weeks it works others not so much. I think that missed FG for you guys was big, that would have made it 20-16 with a better chance of taking the lead. Good luck the rest of the way out, you have a good young team.
