I don't see any reason why we would lose against Texas, however you never know what can happen.

Our 5 game gauntlet of good teams is nearly over, and we look to go 5-0 on the season. Looking ahead, we have two "easy" teams with Santa Cruz and Death Valley a combined 1-6 record so far. We could very well be 7-0

Looks like all we needed was a little bulletin board material to light a fire under us. Morrison is a stud so I'm actually happy we held him to the stat line he did have.

The game gave the MVP to Kirkpatrick but I think it could have easily gone to our star veteran safety, Hudson Monroe with his 2 Ints.

If this game was played 100x we probably lose 90 of them but glad to get the W and a feather in our cap in what has been a rough season to start.

Hoping to avenge our playoff loss to recent champ Alaska at home. They still have Slick Jimmy and a boatload of receiving weapons but on D seem vulnerable other than a stud CB and LB. Our coaches go in having Terhorst on a hair trigger in case he decided to implode again this season.

Our decision to spy instead of blitz Jimmy G paid off on the first series and they pinned us at our 3 and 3 straight runs to the left edge got us to midfield and Terhorst showed his vintage self doding pressure and picking up a 3rd and long with plenty of extra YAC to get us to the 8 wher we quickly got our TD. Another 3andO from ALA as we were tackling well, and ALA offered little resitance until we got to the 8 where a drop, and tip led to a blocked FG attempt and no points. Jimmy found his rhythm an d crossed midfield before converting a 3rdand14 on his way to a FG early in the 2nd.

We went right back to the plan attackign the left edge and pickign up passes when needed and retook a 7 point lead. But Jimmy is special and he overcame our early down wins on D to grab another FG for ALA as a holding penalty called back a logn scramble. A holdign call derailed our drive as well but we chewed a lot of clock, and pushed them backwards to have a nice chance inside of 2 minutes taking over at midfield. But we ended up throwing a pick on 3rd down and we went into the half with a 4 point lead and a feeling that we would need more to stave off ALA in the 2nd half.

Our screen passes weren't generating yardage and we punted it away allowing Jimmy to work the short game before TE BLaine ripped off some YAC to get to our 4 and they pounded it in surprisingly on 3rd down for a 3 point lead. We took our 3rd sack uncharacteristically and punted again but this time got our 3andO and got it back near midfield only to have our run gains ry up and boot it into the endzone. Blaine and Cowher had some nice gains for ALA to get to our 15 but we got a big sack and ALA settled for a FG and 6 point advantage early in the 4th.

Our O got back on track pickign up 3 firsts to get to the redzone and TE Sutter grabbed the TD for a 1 point lead. ALA dinked to midfield but we stuffed them on 3rd and 1 and we took over inside of 4 minutes looking to seal it but instead called a familiar play on 3rd and 2 and ALA took over at their 23 with 2 minutes left and 2 timeouts. THey crossed midfield on a 3rd down conversion by Blaine but two straight short completion were followed by a hurry on 3rd and short and they went for a GWing 58 yarder with 37 seconds left. It falls short...ballgame.

We almost let this one slip away but props to our D for holding ALA to 16 points without TOs. The pass rush was a big factor for both sides as they go tthe 3 sacks while we had 6 hurries.

6-0 and first time beating a contender thsi season. Oregon, Seattle and then 3 soft division games before the bye.

Well that was an ass kicking.........

Damn RH..... That's 2 in a row for you guys.

If we get knocked around by Hartford, check the trade block on Thursday. We may have to hit the reset button. This is a very disappointing start to the year. Although, we did start 2-3 last year as well........ So we will see.

GG Texas. Enjoy the win, it won't happen again in the playoffs.

A very lucky win. We dominated the 1st half 31-10. A tale of two halves as Texas played great in the 2nd and our Offense couldn't do much. Not sure how that happens after we scored 31 points on 5 straight drives in the first half. I'd rather take the loss now than in the playoffs, we'll make some tweaks to both sides of the ball and get better from this loss.

How we let this team come back down 3 TDs is beyond me, but that won't be happening again this season. All good though, we have the #1 Offense and Texas won't be putting up 38 points on our Defense again if we meet in the playoffs.

We'll get back to Hammerhead football and beat the next two squads, a combined 2-7 record.
