At a hot Texas team, but we think that our O could run wild in the flatlands and who knows if we can slow down Kirkpatrick an his WR studs.

A 6 minute dust devil got us our first TD with just 1 3rd down needed. A 3andO by TEX followed by a poor punt set us up nicely but we got cute in the RZ and could only add 3. Penalties derailed the next 2 drives and we shut down TEX again inside their 10 with Kirkpatrick now 0/6. This time we couldn't take advantage of the field position though and this game was officially stuck in the mud. 2 more punts until TEX finally strung together some gains and got a FG. W slung it to get inside their 10 but couldn't pound it in and went back up 10.

TEX ha a tough fought opening drive of the 3rd Q with Mills overcoming double coverage to help them get 6 (missed XP). 4 straight punts had us into the 4th Q, our run game showed signs of life and we took 7 minutes off the clock before getting a FG and 7 point lead. A big Hiatt run got them to midfield and a 3rd down Houdini and bomb to our 10, tying things up with 4 minutes left.

We went deep twice (including 3rd and 1!) but had to settle for pinning them at their 3. We forced the 3andO but a 61 net yard punt spared TEX as we reached the 2 minute warning. Underused WR Johnson had 32 big gains to get us to their 4 and we got a TD (no kneeling for a FG here folks) and held on for the W.

Very close game and we are now 3 teams at 10-2 in the NFC (with us having the tiebreak over ORE).

3rd down and the RZ were our weak areas in this one. Fortuanate to avoid the TO that likely would have swung this game. Our secondary did a great job against Kirkpatrick as oru O was not truly productive.

Ugh....GG Baltimore

So dissapointed in this one. We can run the ball like crazy, but we cant stop anyone when it counts and Mackie was horrible today...... Back to the drawing board....

You are too generous, I'm afraid Ushi. We are struggling mightily right now with a murderer's row of teams including your own down the home stretch of our schedule. Unfortunately it shows we aren't a team that will do any damage come playoffs.

GG Bazooka Johnny,

Up until halftime that game could have gone either way. Asking the team at that point "How can we lose this one?" The Brawlers responded eventually by dominating time with a 97-yard drive.

Next week is a big week for Texas...Atlanta. The Brawlers faced off against the "Woo-pack" earlier this year and escaped with a win by trading FG's for TD's. The Woo has the Pack playing well.

Good luck the rest of the way,
Dean Gullberry

P.S. Good luck to Rick in ACI...it's always a tough game.
