We jumped out to a big lead early and then let off the gas pedal a bit. Got a bit lucky with a fumble return for a touchdown and some missed field goals by our opposition, or else this game would have been too close for comfort. Phillip Picton went over 100 yards for the 4th game in a row, he's been the sparkplug that has taken this offense to the next level.

Texas lost again so we now have a 2 game lead over them for the division, but we can't lose focus now. Next week we host a very good Iowa City team.

Hosting El Paso for pride.

We fumbled the opening KR and they went up 7 after a few short passes. Then we ground out 14 consecutive runs to even things up. El Paso beat double coverage on a 3rd down but petered out in the orange zone, we couldn't do much and pinned them at their 7. A miserable 7 straight punts in the 2nd quarter brought us to halftime.

We picked them to open the 3rd but couldn't move it and the FG was blocked. They strung together some gains and tossed it in from our 3 to go up 7. We couldn't overcome a 1st and 25, but got the stop only to fumble the PR and set them up at our 13 and they went up 14 on a 3rd down YAC play. More futility from us on O and timely scrambles had them in FG range but we pushed them back after one more big run and they went up 17 to open the 4th.

A blocked punt led to another El Paso RZ possession and we bailed them out ith penalties twice before they finally went up 24.

Pretty dissapointing, not sure what we can do about the blocks and fumbles on ST other than switch out the return men.

You gave us some concerned moments early, especially with the two picks, but we were able to keep you from scoring too many points early and we were able to wear you down.....Your QB will only get better, while mine appears to be getting worse.....

Ed Dunlap has a fire lit in his motivational cortex........Must be a contract thing..

My team is a work in progress. It was closer than I was expecting.
