How do you spell MVP? Could it be spelled D-E-V-E-R? That's what Seattle fans are saying after seeing their Thunderbirds start off the 2006 season with a 3-1 record. Last year the Thunderbirds had the worst record in the CFL at 2-14.
So what changed? The quarterback, that's what changed. Charles Dever is undeniably the greatest comeback story of the 2006 season. Dever missed the entire 2005 season with a torn Achilles tendon, but he has bounced back in a big way in 2006.
Dever's stats through 4 games are outstanding: 66% completion percentage (best in CFL), 8 TD passes (tied for 3rd in CFL), 1 INT (tied for 3rd fewest in CFL), and a rating of 108.1 (best in CFL). If Dever keeps up this pace his name will become one of the better known names in the CFL.
This week he faces his biggest test yet when he faces the best defense in the league: the El Paso Rockets. The current line has Seattle favored by 1 point.
