Woohoo! No precipitous busts from my high picks. Happy happy.

And the happy trends for my draft picks: 1st round DE Lance Crane is up +6/+6 from the draft. 2nd rounder RG Kelvin Connell is +4/+2 and 4th rounder TE Anthony Torres is +5/+4 (special thanks to GI for that pick!). Happy happy.

And we may have found an answer in our never-ending search for a non-sucky backup QB - undrafted FA Artie Weinke had a great camp (+3/+3) and shows some real potential.

In veteran news, 10-year pro WR Carl Markey's training camp performance proved that the minicamp reviews were no fluke: he's made a substantial leap in ability late in his career (a +22/+22 boom post-draft). Something appears to have clicked for Carl. Perhaps he partook of the horse steroids?

Finally, a veteran whose improvement had up until now slipped under my radar (I've noticed him creeping up, but didn't bother to check how much until now) is DE Carl Smith, a 6th year-pro who went from 31/40 at the end of last season to 41/48. Not huge, but a healthy bump for a career backup!

Happy happy.

All in all, a satisfactory end to a good offseason for Tucson.

Ugh... ugh... ugh....

Two of my 1st round picks, Horner & Harry A, are still holding out and dropping points like crazy. My other 1st round pick, Mills, signs, and looks good, but has a conflict with the position leader.

But C Noyeaux signed on the first go and looks great. He'll probably be the big gain for us from this draft.

Seems like a lot of holdouts this year.

At first I was quite pleased to see 3 of my guys make the Green List. Then I noticed some of the obvious names missing and checked the draft status.

With 18 rookies still not signed after camp, I'd say that's a bad thing.
