[quote4c18114="timmynausea"]Here's a question: If Honolulu were to miss this pick, how would the automatic pick be determined for them? (Assuming they don't have list up and turned off.)[/quote4c18114]

If this happens, I'll make his pick for him, but I'll look for whoever is online and we can make a group decision about who to pick...in other words, the worst punter.

FYI, you can see if someone has anything in their list by clicking the 'Full Draft Order' link on the draft thing-a-ma-jig at the top of the forum. When you look at an unmade pick, you'll see a graphic on the right that shows the status of that team's draft app (green light = on; yellow = once; no light = off), as well as seeing how many players are in that team's list.

Can we appoint someone to draft for MrBug? The guy has no clue he is on the draft board right now.

GE, do you know for a fact that he won't be back in the next hour and 15 minutes? If so, then let's go ahead and draft for him. Otherwise we should probably wait.

I did send him a PM over at FOFC a few hours ago...

from Wade in that thread:

[quoteb367a66]
i think we probably need to revisit our whole draft process with the new tool and based on several things that have happened.. [/quoteb367a66]

We really need to discuss changes before next year. For as much interest as there is in this league, there is no excuse for a three day single round.

I'm open to any suggestions that anyone has. What about having a fixed period of time for each owner to make all of their picks? To throw a number out there, 10 hours. So if someone doesn't show up and misses their first pick, the clock runs for 10 hours and every pick after that must be done from their list or be made immediately for them.

Didn't the IHOF use this rule at some point? If so, how did that work out?

I don't really know what the best changes would be. Our system worked fine last year, so I don't even know if the rules really are the issue. I mean, bug is just gone and he has no idea it's his pick, no rules are going to fix that, right?
I guess the one thing I'd say is that it's nice to have some extra time in the first round for trading purposes but 8 hours may be too much.

yeah i agree 8 was too much. I think 4 would've been more than enough.

Ok, my suggestion for Bug's pick is WLB Bo Chandler. He doesn't have any OLBs under contract, and Chandler is the top rated OLB available. Sound reasonable? Anyone want to throw out other suggestions? Punter Lionel McKeown has an 83 volatility and could boom into the next Ronnie Tu!

Chandler sounds fair to me.

How about this for a first round rule change? You get something like 3-4 hours and if you check in and request more time for a trade you can get an extra 2 hours. That'd prevent stuff like this from eating up the maximum hours, but allow owners that legitimately need more time up to 5-6 hours.

I agree that Chandler would be a good fit.

Or P Kelvin Cottrill. He looks solid, and Honolulu doesn't have a punter under contract...:)

Sweet. The draft o matic says the next several picks are auto picks and I will be around to make my 2nd rd pick tonight once you hit the HON pick and blow through.

33 minutes and counting...

If a few people tell me to just go ahead and make the pick I'll do that. I think it's very unlikely he'll show up at this point, or that he'll mind us picking for him. Does anyone strongly disagree?

It'd be fine with me. It seems inevitable.

What's another 33 minutes? Won't it be harder to undo our actions if he checks in minutes before to make his pick and then we have a mess to clean up?

Might as well wait at this point and then move on, then make a new rule in his name.

So the guy I'm going to take at 1.30 might be a bit of a stretch, but he's the guy I really want...I'm curious what everyone else thinks about him.

I might as well just say who it is...as long as MrBug doesn't show up and pick him. I'll take my chances...

I'm going to pick DT Freddie Shaw out of Butler. There are four higher rated DTs available, but I can't ignore those combine numbers, Solecismic score, and 97 volatility.

Not a fan of this idea at all. For those of us that work and do monitor the board becomes tough. I know you can auto-pick, but sometimes you want to see what else happens before making a pick. I'm for a rule, just not this one.
