Its that time of year again, time for me to break down my team let everyone know who is going to start, who is going to see some playing time- and most importantly who is close to being cut!

Lets start at the QB position. Donnie Lowe will be the starter once again, this will be his 4th year as a starter and probably one of the most important seasons of his career. Lowe has 2 years left on his rookie contract and if he has a good season look for Talons managment to try to lock him up long term in the offseason if he has a bad year he could be traded or allowed to play out his rookie contract then walk. Anything less than 3,200 yards and 20 TDs will be a dissapoinment for the former # 5 pick overall.

At RB Butch Fulton is entering his 5th year as a starter. He is clearly the man in Tulsa and we are expecting him to see around 400 carries this year. Last season Fulton quietly had a great year with over 1,500 yards and 10 TDs. Fulton also had over 400 yards recieving and barely passed the 2,000 total yard mark- he is clearly the heart and sole of this offense and he will likely see a new contract this offseason if he has another great year. George Welton will once again be blocking for Fulton. Welton has consistantly been one of the top FBs in the league, and that will not change this year he is simply one of the best, and with 4 years left on his deal he will be here for a long time.

TE is clearly the deepest position on the team. Daniel Cone will once again be the starter, and he is one of the top TEs in the league. Behind him is 4th year man William Wellins, Wellins has never had the opportunity to be the full time starter, but if he is ever given that shot he will shine. Wellins has expressed an interest in being traded to a team where he can be the # 1 TE, and the Talons have tried to help him by shopping around but there has been little interest shown in him. Behind them is rookie Harvey Colton; Colton was a 5th round pick who was not expected to make any impact but he has looked amazing in camp and will likely see the field a lot this season, he could end up being one of the top TEs in the league in a few years. Expect to see a lot of goal line formations with this team.

The starters at WR are the same as last season. Donald Booker and Charles Lindberg will open the season starting. Booker had a solid year last season and is looking to improve in his 3rd year as a starter. The Talons are expecting big things from the former # 11 pick overall. Lindberg was injured most of last season and put up ugly numbers when he was healthy. Lindberg has not caught a TD pass since week 12 of the 2005 season. If he has a slow start expect to see him demoted to the # 3 WR spot. Taking his place would either be first round pick Louie Booker, or Daniel Campbell might get yet another shot to prove he was worth his draft choice a few seasons ago.

At offensive line- there will again be no changes this year. This line has played together for 5 full seasons and with everyone under contract they will stay together for a few more years to once again be one of the top O-Lines in the league. The book-ends are Daryl Wilk and David Brinkley. At center is once again Gary Wales, and the gaurds will be Rupert Heyer and David Crew. We expect this line to continue to improve as they grow together.

Special teams will see Earl Cabral punting once again, and an old face is back to kick for the Talons this year- Eddie Spires. Spires is a career 80% kicker, which was good enough to catch the eye of the coaches in the offseason in '06 Spires hit 20 of 25 for the Talons in 13 games. The return game will see quite a few faces this year. The coaching staff has decided to let Donald Booker take a break from the return game to start the season so he can concentrate more on his reciving game. Kick returns will be handled by CB Pete Henderson and WR Daniel Campbell. The punt return duties will be held by rookies WR Louie Booker and RB Brenden Stokes.

Stay tuned for the defensive preview coming up in a few days!!!
