When the Commissioner announced Las Vegas' first round selection of CB Gus Shergalis, the Rounders fans erupted with glee. Las Vegas has gone five years without a top notch corner and many experts agree this is the final piece to TurfToe's defensive puzzle.

The crowd was anxiously awaiting an appearance from TurfToe who would either incite a riot among opponents fans or delight everyone with a roast of the newest media member. The offering of a sacrifice, interviewing TurfToe, is a common initiation ritual of rookie press pass holders. However, when TurfToe did not make an appearance, the true draft experts (like Oscar Madison) knew that something was in the works.

When the trade with Detroit was announced, one young fan held up an offensive sign in support of the GM and his scouting staff. By the time security had the excessively celebrant fan removed from the room, the Commissioner was announcing the selection of QB Roderick Palmer - the QB that many fans wanted to see in a Las Vegas uniform but never imagined they would.

Before the echoes of cheers had a chance to fade, TurfToe kicked open the war room door, fists pumping in the air and trademark megaphone in hand, shouting "Who Loves Football?!" followed by the resounding cries of pink and black clad weirdoes "We Love Football!"

After a few high fives from the fans, a woman handed TurfToe a Las Vegas Rounders pin. TurfToe proceeded to affix the pin to his bare chest causing the woman to faint on the spot. Security helped the woman to her feet and to an awaiting ambulance. TurfToe was then ushered to the conference room for a few brief words:

"I think today is going great for us. We were able to land two players who deserved to go in the 1.12-1.18 range and we did so with the 20th and 27th selections. Other teams' needs allowed these guys to slide to us, so we took advantage of the opportunity...I've got more work to do today guys, so I'll catch you later."

[b652dafd]TurfToe, with his signature megaphone, addressing the media and Rounders fans. The infamous megaphone was used to incite the rabid Rounder faithful instead of to intimidate and humiliate media members on a happy day for Las Vegas.[/b652dafd]
Bargains on both players agreed, but you could have had a kicker.

I know Fonz, 1st-round-envy sucks doesn't it...

Don't worry, you'll have a top 10 next year if I have anything to say about it. :smt047
