With the 4th pick in the 2004 Amatuer Draft the Tulsa Talons select Running Back out of American Interntnl Butch Fulton!
Butch Fulton is an undersized RB at 5'8 196 lbs, but he is the most talented RB in this draft class and coaches in Tulsa are hoping he can break 1,200 yards this season! Last season the Talons struggled with the running game, not having a single player rush for over 500 yards. This season Butch Fulton will immediatley be the starter and he will get the ball a lot. Corwin Dangelo the leading rusher last season with 498 yards will be the primary backup and should still get a solid amount of carries in the Talons ball control offense. FB George Welton singed a 5 year extension this past weekend, he is really looking forward to opening up some holes for Fulton for the next few years. The team is still in negotiations with 4 of the 5 starters on the offensive line, they are trying to sign them all to 3+ year extensions to hopefully give the Talons one of the best rushing attacks for the next few years.
In other draft news; DE Scott Flowers went # 1 overall, no big suprise there. A little suprise was El Paso taking WR Tom Sonkin # 3 overall, he was projected as a top 10 talent, and clearly the best WR in this draft, but some expected El Pason to take DE Leon Bronson.
