Ahhh. Music to my ears. Actually it has only taken about 6 seasons to find the heir to Chester Brumley's [b3367fcc]thrown[/b3367fcc] in San Antonio.[/quote3367fcc]

Which thrown would that be? When he was thrown out of San Antoinita? Or thrown out of Bubba's Bar?

I sat on the throne the other day and took a Foozamanella...championship!

Anyway, I was surprised to see Roy Jones at 1.16 and he made me second guess my plans, as I think he has what it takes to be one of the best in this class.

The first one as in he was thrown out of San Antonio the year after I took over the team. Actually, it was more like he decided to leave.

Nice catch and as usual a lack of my proof reading.

Jinx, buy me a coke. Yes, you probably did have that feeling as he very well could be.

Welp, guess I'll be running 2 TE sets unless someone wants to pay a ransom for McGregor ;).

So I moved up to 1.19 to take Brenden Cassidy . . . mostly because I really like his bars. He knows a lot of formations (12) and is really smart. My scout told me that he reminded him of Kent Goodwin, but my scout is an idiot when it comes to QB's anyways (Poor). We'll see what we can do with him. I saw that Baltimore was picking at 1.20 and guessed that he'd pick a QB. I have no idea if Cassidy was preferred by Baltimore over Gilson, but I decided that a 3rd round pick was worth the insurance to get the guy that I wanted. My scout said Cassidy was very underrated, I'm curious to hear what other scouts had to say about him.

My scout who is also an idiot when it comes to QBs (poor rating) said Cassidy was very overrated. Hopefully that means Cassidy is actually pretty good.

Well, it looks as if Bart Baump is the main disappointment in the first round so far, his ratings are well below the other DEs picked around him. (30/49)

Brandon Norton didn't turn out as well as I thought he might as well, 32/45.

I'm a little disappointed as well, but I knew his initial ratings weren't going to be great because his bars in some key categories were below average. Hopefully he'll boom like [player]Michael Browning[/player] instead of bust like [player]Freddie Shaw[/player].

Instant upgrade is when your two new draft picks appear better than anyone else you have in their position. I hope things go well in camp so these guys can solidify their claim on the starting spots.

How about DE Osbourne? Nice!

I was trying like hell to get him in a trade. I thought he'd be incredible.

On a separate note, sorry for the delay. After acquiring the pick, I put my selection in my preference list and turned it on but it didn't use it.

I selected (what I believe to be) the 2nd best receiver, Carlton Engelberger. My scout has his bars much higher than Bates even though Bates' measurables are better. We'll see what happens.

For future reference, what you did never works in this utility.

If you are on the clock, which you automatically are if you acquire a pick by trade, then you need to manually set the util off. The autopick will not kick in in such cases...

I think WR Engleberg (sp?) will turn out to be pretty damn good. I am not disappointed with my DE 55/71- I think he will climb up. His combine numbers lead me to believe he will be better than that.

Engleberger was the second best WR on my list.

I may have overpaid for Bates, but I figure it's now or never for the Lin era and another 4.3 receiver could help the cause right away. I think last year our receiving corps held us back some, so we went all out to address that this offseason.

Before this, we tried really hard to trade up for DE Irv Wilson. Congrats to Castlerock for getting what in many years would be a top 5 pick at #22.

I tried to trade out of 1.28, but without any success.

I wasn't too thrilled about any of the players available, had my eyes on a RB but wasn't too keen on picking him as a 1st rounder.

And then, the more I looked at the draftees, the more I liked what I saw in Hall. I wasn't looking at QBs at all in this draft, in fact I did not interview any of them. I hope Hall turns out to be a winner.

When I picked my player, the utility replied with an error (which I stupidly did not write down). And now it seems to be stuck on Boston, even though Weakness 's got the green light on.

I kicked off Boston's pick. Seems the utility still gets stuck when a "Best Available" pick is made. I'll look into it.

Gilson was my first choice, so I was happy with your selection.

Man, it was a tough call on who to get at 2.1

FB isn't a need, don't know if it is a need for anybody, but lets just say he impressed me at the combine.
