So is JeeberD awol? There's simply no way an 83/83, 5th-year DE should ever hit the FA market, and certainly not coming from a team with $48m in cap space.

I've benefited from such oversights in the past, but I feel that this kind of thing is *really* bad for the league.

Bad because there will be an outcry for a rule for GM error or bad because there are only 4-8 teams that actually have a shot at landing the guy regardless of how much other teams bid?

Chicago has a similar issue with a 6th year 69/69 WR and 28M of cap space.

You can renegotiate any contract you currently have, and offer your restricted Free agents contracts.

No one can offer a contract to ANY unrestricted Free Agent, whether they are on your roster or not in Stage 1.
