[bf916f6e][uf916f6e]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/bf916f6e][/uf916f6e]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes traveled to play the Charleston Monitors in an AC ATLANTIC showdown and won by the final score of 30-24 in OT. Monitors QB [player]Donnie Lowe[/player] was named MVP as he completed 29 of 35 passes (82.9%) for 238 yards with 2 TD's and rushed twice for 16 yards (8 Ypc). Offensively, the Torpedoes were very explosive as they recorded 460 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes allowed 3 sacks. The Torpedoes scored 21 points on 4 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes controlled the clock and set the pace of the game. Defensively, the Torpedoes contained the Monitors passing game, but struggled against the run. The Torpedoes allowed 17 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes sit atop the AC ATLANTIC after the win. The Torpedoes (5-2) travel to play the Chicago Hitmen (3-5) next week. Can the Torpedoes find a way to win on the road or will the Hitmen prevail at home?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "We came out and won a hard fought game on the road against a divisional foe. These division games are crucial when the division standings are as tight as they are in the AC ATLANTIC. We are in control for now, but we need to find a way to separate ourselves from the other teams in the division. I really feel that we have a playoff caliber team and that we can make some noise this season. It's up to the team to execute on the field though. We need to review the game film and find ways to improve. We travel to play the Chicago Hitmen next week and need to find a way to win that game. We need to set the tone early on defense, establish our run game, and protect the ball if we want to have a shot at winning the game!"
