Wow. San Antonio gave us a good old fashioned ass kicking. Sheen appears to be blitz-proof as we tried to blitz the crap out of him to disrupt the short passing game. It didn't help that we lost our starting pass-rushing end on the first series and our starting free safety in the first half.
We're also glad to help Roy Jones get his rushing stats back on track. I know he was injured earlier this year but he didn't seem to be having the same success he had in the past. Our gameplan might have overlooked Jones while trying to shutdown the high-percentage short pass attack. We failed miserably on both counts.
gg Shooter and remember to thank us if you are successful at making your run at Shreveport.
In other news, our o-line cohesion took a huge hit with the loss of RT Twisp last week and it appears the defensive front and secondary will follow suit next week with our latest casualties. We are averaging 1 player on IR each week following our bye after being extremely fortunate the first two-thirds of the season. What looked like the beginning of a good stretch run for us has turned into a yard sale. We'll be extremely lucky to go 2-1 down the final stretch and hope like hell we can sneak into the playoffs. It won't be easy with the recent loss of 3 key players.
edit: I just watched the game and I don't feel as bad as I did originally. While we still got our asses handed to us, there were some tough plays to overcome. Blocked punt for a TD on our second possession followed by a fumble on the ensuing kickoff leaving only 24 yards for SAO. Jones is a lot like Goodwin - give him less than half of the field and he WILL find the endzone. Later we get a 75 yard kickoff return and walk away with 3 points. Those 3 plays alone make it a tough day against any team not named Honolulu.
