Hosting LVS in a match made by destiny with our blockbuster trade from a few seasons back. When we met earlier this year, both Os were pretty atrocious in the 1st half and LVS took advantage of our mistakes to build a 15 point lead in the 3rd with a 60 yard rushing TD. But a KR TD sparked a comeback from us as drops plagued LVS down the stretch in our double-heavy GP. We didn't have Crabtree for that one but have some banged up OL guys but are hoping to be more consistent throughout the game. LVS swiched up their GP in week 17 but not sure if that was just to eff with our heads or if that is the new GP. We did scale back the doubling of Conley a bit. LVS lives and dies by their pass rush on D so our OL will have their work cut out form them but a good performance there could lead to a big win for us. Let's get to it...

4 straight runs get us across midfield and two good air gains get us in the RZ where we crank out a TD. Some nci ernning one good YAC play gets LVS into our end and Kindley hangs on to 2 receptions to even things up. A run for a loss leads to a failed completion on 3rd and long for us and LVS hits a fe intermediate passes before our rush derails them at midfield.

We also hit Crabtree to get out of our end on a couple nice completions but Fulton only has one more good run in the tank before a 3rd down drop in the orange zone so we managed to just switch the field. LVS battles their way to a couple conversions as both team sare committing penalties before punting it away. We again get to midfield this time rushing but stall out once again as the field position battle continues. Mcknight heats up beating our pressure and hitting 8 or so passes in a row to set up a 1st and goal form our 2 where he finds Kinley wiht ease at the 2 minute warning. We are dinkign instead of getting it downfield during our drill but are in long FG range with 28 seconds left and Spradling gets one over the top with double coverage but the clock is down to 3 seonds as apparently it takes 25 seconds to run 25 yards in FOF, s we cut the lead to 4 at the half.

We are doing significantyl better on a per play basis both in the air and on the ground but are down 4. Pretty similar splits for both teams however with LVS staying ahead thanks to going 3 for 5 on 3rd despite needing an average of nearly 10 yards on those attempts. No TOs or truly explosive plays yet though for either team.

A big TFL gets engated by oru 3rd defensive penalty resulting in a LVS first but nice tackling gets our stop quickly afterwards. We opt ot run on 3rd and 7 and come up short for what might be the first 3andO of the game. Our rush ends the LVS threat and we have our weekly PR fumble but are fortunate to recover it and are set up near midfield. We move the sticks a few times with some nice balance but can't overcome a holding call and settle for 3 and remain down 1. LVS goes to Conley on 3rd and 1 and he breaks free picking up 35 yards and they back ot back deep to Kindley as he hauls in the 2nd one to go up 8. Another ill-fated 3rd down run leads to a 3andO for us and FB Williams breaks one for a 64 yard TD to close out the 3rd.

Once again we find ourselves down 15 to start the 4th Q. 2 negative plays leads to a 3rd and 21 but Crabtree hauls in the deep ball, no matter much though as they continue to double Spradling seemingly every time we throw his way and another failed completion on 3rd and long means we are punting. And we catch oru break with Brewer grabbing his 10th INT on the season bringing it back for a TD. McKNight is undeterred however and he hits Kindley once again deep downfield but we hold at midfiled to avoid them making it a 2 score game. Crabtree gets another 3rd and long completion downfield but our running game is totally shut down and we are sacked on 3rd so have to punt once again with the clock nwo down to 5 minutes. A hold and sack pushed LVS backwards and they opt to throw on 3rd and long instead of eat more clock so we get it back at their 42 after a nice PR with more than 3 minutes left down 8. And we directly go back to a double-covered Spradling on a Deep route and he hauls it in at the 1 falling into the endzone and Woodard hits an open Crabtree ont eh 2 pointer for a tie game with just under 3 minutes left.

We force a failed completion on 3rd and 10 but add a 4th first down for LVs due to defensive penalty on a facemask call but we get them right back to 3rd and 10 and pick them at their 42 with plenty of time left to get into FG range. A scramble gets us to their 30 but then we take a sack to be at tehir 40 wiht a 3rd and 18 and fortuantely we hit Crabtree for a safe 11 yard gain to set up the 46 ayrd try which we nail with 24 seconds left and that is ballgame.

Wow what a well-played game TurfToe, I know losing another one in the 4th has got to hurt but it certainly looked like you were going to amke it. McKnight seems to throw those picks against us when we play. Now that we hae controlled oru own TO problems we are looking quite good as creating TOs has been a strong suit of ours this season.

Really a remarkably even game. We averaged 6.05 per play and you had 5.83, we had 20 first downs to your 21, and we both had 6 3rd down conversions on 15 and 13 attempts respectively.

Woodard definitely took a beating in this one with 4 sacks and 8 knockdowns from your pass rush and we managed jsut barely 1 YAC per catch but remained pretty efficient none the less. Your guys played great just fell apart in the 4th.

Another familiar foe for us in the CC this time, maybe this is the year we can get past that hurdle in now our 8th time getting to the divisional round.

All I can say is fuck this game. Not because I lost but a lot of results seem pre-determined and you just get teased watching the game. I feel we outplayed you two times this year but only lost because FOF knew it wasn't our year and made it look good in the process.

While watching Solevision, I knew we were screwed when you converted the 3rd and 21 with a 24 yarder. Then the pick 6 confirmed I was not meant to win this one despite putting together a solid game. Even with our weak secondary our front seven was good enough to win both times and you needed big plays on ST and defense respectively to steal the wins.

At about mid-season, I revamped the offensive game plan to limit the deep ball option as best I could but will need the offseason to remake several plays to really limit McKnight's penchant for going deep. I still struggle with the behind/ahead settings so he's not trying to go 30 yards downfield to his 3rd receiver in the 4th when up by 2 scores. I also hate it when you are only up 9 points in the 3rd and run it 3 straight times. I can't find the balance.

Good luck the rest of the way!

Yea an improvement to which play in each section to call based on situation would be great rather than just listing them out but who knows what is coming

GG ?? Uh.... GG A.I. I guess..

How does Kansas City not have an owner with a QB like that??

We were able to sneak by a good Kansas City team with some pressure on their QB and solid play from our O-line and running back tandem.

Up next a clash with Smitty..... Hmmmmmm I have some ideas for this one.

Good game Smitty. Two field goals in the last two minutes. Can't ask for a better game than that.

A few notes:

- Omaha had some costly penalties that probably kept this game from being a bigger Omaha win. This included T Becker being hit with back to back holding penalties.

- Just a couple weeks after finally getting star LB Barker back from injury, team leader LB Crawford got hurt early in the 2nd quarter and didn't return.

- The Phantoms pass defense, which has been up and down all year, was burned late. Looks like some off season additions are needed.

- QB Graham, in his first real opportunity to shine in the playoffs, layed an egg. He threw a pick six and had a QB rating of 68.8

- A wild game where BOTH teams threw a pick six.

- Omaha set the tone with an early goal line stand after Atlantic City had a first and goal on the 2 yard line.

Good luck to Omaha in the next round

Rick

GG Red,

That barrage in the 2nd quarter seemed like the bell tolling for DVY but we somehow pulled a different game out in the second half. Always a good time when our teams meet; I'm looking forward to the next time.

Great Game Rick,

This was a wild game and I can't believe we won it on a last second FG. Congrats on such a good season and turning ACI around, your future looks bright with your team.

GG Rick.

I'd consider us a big underdog at Omaha. We looked back at this year looking for weaknesses in Smitty's team and I was depressed with what we saw. Their record is very deceiving. When your Pro Bowl QB is out for a slew of games, you can toss those losses out. I'll be interested to see if we can handle the vertical pressure that the Arrowheads put on teams......We have a solid rush, so we have a shot.

Welp I bragged about our division being so dominant and then our 13 win teams both get taken out by an 8-8 team lol. but your team is a lot better than your record shows, I was spooked going in and was right to feel that way.

Our defense had been non-existent all year, and some how some way they put together their best half of football and I was thrilled going into halftime. The only problem being if you started on offense and your name wasn't Doug brown, oh boy was it not your day. we had more success on offense from your 1,500 rusher last year in frenando white. but constant punts and waking up Jaylen Buckley actually had us playing behind. Then when we forced a 3rd and 20 to give our offense one last chance to disappoint, the 3rd and long defense beat them too it.

Jaylen Buckley put together a playoff winning touchdown 30 yards out and the rest was history. You guys may be 8-8 going in but taking down two 13 win teams shows that a team really cant always be defined by their record. good look in the conference championship!

This is going to be a good game, your team is young and talented. Yeah we went 1-4 with Leonardo out so my record does look a little deceiving but your record is the same, very deceiving. You guys beat, KC, San Antonio, ans the Pride so I'm very worried about our game tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow as we look to matchup very well.
