Welp, after talking trade with at least 4 or 5 teams, no one could quite put together the right deal that suited both of us...

So, I REACH for Muir at 5... Before anyone says it, I know this was a reach and he is probably not worth the 1.5. However, I went with need here and the other top positions just did not fill a big enough need.

Now that I am back to the level I was two years ago, hopefully these two WRs don't get hurt like the last two...

I don't think it is such a reach at all.

Muir is a darn good receiver, and this league is in such dire need of talented WRs that his value gets bumped even higher...

Yup... although looking at the picks after me, I could have gotten him maybe in the 1.10 range... but I just could not get into that range that I wanted....

I'm almost sure he would have been gone by then.

I learned one lesson from the whole proceedings yesterday, if you want a player and he's there when it's your pick, just grab him! Don't fool around and try and be smart, because, contrary to the real NFL where most people know what players other teams are going after, here we don't really have a clue what other GMs are thinking...

Well, now that I can shine a light in our war room...

I would have been just as happy taking Cooley, and I knew both of them would not go in the first 8 or 9 picks....

I think i made the right choice trading for a WR rather than trying to get one at the 1.13. I think it would have taken some trading up to get one of the big 2.

I agree with fff...I don't think there's any way in hell that Muir would have alsted to 1.10.

[quote4c74266="dberner30"]If I were Van Eck I would hold out and never play for Atlantic City. They done dissed him. Called him a midget and selected him with a :( look.

:D[/quote4c74266]

yeah it really sucks that they had to settle for the highest graded player in the draft. I feel for them, I really do.

Muir was a great pick. There's no way he lasts past 1.9 or 1.10.

Wasn't a reach at all.

Dont know that I agree with either of these thoughts. I knew that Jordan was the higher rated of the two OTs no matter what the bureau ratings said. Thats why I jumped over Atlantic City to take him. That is an NFL style move. And I was thinking a lot about how much it was worth to me to get my player instead of waiting to see what dropped to me. :D

I was smiling the whole time at #7. With everyone looking to move up for the WR at 5, I was betting on Wells falling to 7, which he did.

While we are waiting we can discuss the picks already made....
I think Tampa Bay got a very solid WR at a need position.

As for me picking a DE- not a need position this year, but David Hance is asking for big money and with his injury problems he simply wont get it. I was really targetting the OLB and the WR but when both went before it was my turn to pick I had to choose between a CB and a DE. Since my CBs all have good contracts I decided to go DE where he could slide into the starting spot next season. His high volatility really scares me, but I didnt have any other great options.
