IMO the top couple guys, Titone and JOrdan were deserving of 1st overall selection. Beyond that I thought guys 3 through 10 were all a toss up. That also prompted my decision to leapfrog Atlantic City. I think the WR went too early based on his value individually but went at the right time for this league as it stands with the WR shortage. Looking forward to the next 5 or 10 picks. This is about where the next talent cutline comes into play IMO.

[quote7efb655="Doug5984"]While we are waiting we can discuss the picks already made....
I think Tampa Bay got a very solid WR at a need position.

As for me picking a DE- not a need position this year, but David Hance is asking for big money and with his injury problems he simply wont get it. I was really targetting the OLB and the WR but when both went before it was my turn to pick I had to choose between a CB and a DE. Since my CBs all have good contracts I decided to go DE where he could slide into the starting spot next season. His high volatility really scares me, but I didnt have any other great options.[/quote7efb655]

The more chatter I see, i am much happier with Muir...

I knew he was a great player, but I thought I could get more value at a lower pick and get him or Cooley.. from the looks of it now, Cooley could go in the top 10...

I'm surprised at everyone valueing the OLB so high... to me he is totally not worth a top 10 pick...

The reason I had him rated so high was no matter who I picked they were going to be a backup this first year. If I went CB they would be # 4 on the depth chart, and probably not even be able to start next year- and at pick # 8 im not going to sit a guy on the bench for 2 years. OLB I have a mentor, and Leone just looks like the type of player you can build a defense around. His 40 time, and agility scores are better than most recievers. As for my DE Norman Rodgers soon to be called "Stormin" Norman "Mr" Rodgers- He seems like a great run stopping DE that I can hopefully get him on the field a lot this season without having to start him any. With his selection I might be able to trade David Hance if anyone makes me the right offer for him. I already see who I'm targeting with my 2nd round pick- I might have to move up to the end of the first round to get him if anyone around that pick wants to move down let me know!

Depending on what happens when we get closer, 1.28 might be available...

I'm almost sure he would have been gone by then.

I learned one lesson from the whole proceedings yesterday, if you want a player and he's there when it's your pick, just grab him! Don't fool around and try and be smart, because, contrary to the real NFL where most people know what players other teams are going after, here we don't really have a clue what other GMs are thinking...[/quotee82f3de]

Wow, it's starting to sound like a lot of what I said last year is finally sinking in.

It doesn't matter what the other GM's think about your picks. You need to move up to where you think you can get the player you want. If there isn't a lot of value at your pick and you can't seem to get the right value in a trade, take who you think will improve your team, other GM's opinions be damned. It's your job to improve your team, not theirs.

If trade offers didn't carry enough value before your pick, you'll really ba able to see who wanted that guy after you pick him. If that's the case, then you'll definitely get value and in the least, you'll have a player you wanted.

With that said, my worthless opinion is that nothing in the first will be as much of a reach as the SS pick.

Well, I'm slow, I needed a season to digest your wisdom! :P

I agree with you and will add my worthless opinion to yours. By the way, does that make two worthless opinions, or is it still one worthless opinion? I mean, since it's worthless and all...

So that means the other WR will go #9, I think. You think?

Why would they have to do that? Just cause I trade Tony Jolin this offseason doesn't mean I need Cooley, or whoever the best WR left is, cause I am not keeping up with it or anything.

P.S. Grid Iron my avatar and banner still make me drool. Great work again, and my many thanks. The eyes of the Crow in the avatar just make me wanna kill something, it is awesome.

Well, you'd be picking #10... I just meant that all the people trying to trade up with GE are probably after the WR. I could be wrong.

Edit: OK I see that I misunderstood what you meant. I figure most of the people trying to trade up figure the WR won't be there within the next couple picks. Like I have the 15th pick and I know he won't be there at 15. It's not specifically related to you at all.

I considered making a bid to get to 1.9 to pick Alston, but ultimately figured I could use 2 players more at this stage...

good pick GE!

GE pulls a 'wade moore' and keeps his pick after having everybody else try and trade for it... :D

While I was wheeling and dealing and examining every detail of the draft pool, I really fell in love with Alston. The guy can play. I was going to try to get him at 1.12 but there was no promise I could get that pick from Cleveland and I am not sure if he would have been there.

You would have had a tough time getting him there since I was trying to trade up to 1.11 for him...
