Damn Stretch, that's impressive. So you know what guys are already rated before picking them. Doesn't that take the fun out of the draft? I mean, I love the uncertainty part of not knowing how a pick is going to come out.

It doesn't matter if you can predict scores or can see the interview results of another team, the draft is about actually pulling the trigger on guys, making trades, and filling the right holes on oyur team. There's a lot involved but I think that estimation technique will at least set some sort of expectation for a GM (especially if it's been trended) instead of coming away with a "oh, I guess that's what I was hoping he would be" reaction.

I'm rather impressed.

I'll never trade with that guy again (psst, check your PM Stretch).

Sorry for the holdup kids. I was out playing football (it's playoff time!). This is the same league that I messed up my hand in back in May, if you recall. We won and it's great being back out there.

Re the estimation method, keep in mind it is only that, an estimation.

First of all, you do not see the true ratings.
Second, you see them thru your scout's eyes.
Third, you don't even see all the ratings as some are hidden.

So yes, it's a useful tool but like Stretch's chart shows, it can also be very wrong.

Very very very very very very very wrong.

Trust me on that.

It's a guesstimation. No better or worse than anyone else's.

That's the beautiful part of this game. You can do all the analysis in the world and the player could still boom or bust.

That's what differentiates FOF from games like the old FBPro.

I left my utility on before I made my trade. My two guys went (NcNeil/Hutchins) and I still had QB Sneed in my list, ah well, woulda gone a different route but we're happy with Sneed I guess.

Lesson learned: If you make a trade for need, take your value picks out of your list.

Our new Brooklyn Tiger additions are slowly taking shape. So far, the first four picks land with ratings of:

1. CB Hugh "Shutdown" Fuller, 41/78
2. SLB Darryl "Larry" Stokes, 32/66
3. OT Ken Brock, 25/58
4. DT Otis "Andy" Arnold, 22/51

I understand that the ratings will change in camp, but they hit the rosters where I hoped they would. . .

now, about those last three picks. ..

So if this thing goes any slower will we start giving back the players we drafted?

Just curious.

I agree. I think it's only fair that I be compensated with first round picks in the next three seasons.

Judging by your team, they should be fairly high picks

After missing out on Mercury Marshall in the 3rd round, Detroit with a reach pick in the 4th to take RB Jack Fling as we are desperate for special team help...

I'd like to make the pick for Honolulu, but apparently the pick was traded away to New Orleans. No confirmation in the thread from Bug however. With Bug being a west-coaster, it might take awhile for him to confirm. I'll probably give him a half-hour or so and then just go forward.

[agitator mode]We're halfway through the 5th round, but I see that well under half of the teams currently have their utility turned on. I find this disheartening, as this wonderful utility isn't being used to its full potential.

Folks, the utility is like a the perfect, hot slut. It is sexy, easy to use, willing to be used frequently, and when we're done with it we can ignore it until the next time we feel like using it. What more could we ask for?

Don't let that hot slut go to waste. Use her.[/agitator mode]
