Gotta love when a plan comes together. Moved down from 6 to 10 and got the guy I would have taken at 6. I think any of the guys taken 6 through 10 would have been great picks so I had nothing to lose by moving down. I really liked Tatum (S) and Banks (OT) and would have been very happy with those guys as well. May Schwartz have a long and propserous career here in Chicago.

Schwartz looks like a stud and is by far the cream of the WR crop this year... I was trying to make some moves to get him when he started dropping, but no such luck...

I wanted him too.

I thought about Schwartz but I needed to get a guy who would be able to get him the ball first. I love Ernest Lorenzo, but he's just not talented enough to take the Rockets very far...

[quote1b62ea3="Joe"]Hmmm.. lets see if we can get either of the top two picks to play a single down this season, shall we?[/quote1b62ea3]

Both the #1 and #2 picks went down in the same year? Strange?!

Glad it worked out for you then, Chicago. :)

Bah, I tried to make a trade and contacted the Arizona owner and found out he's not in the league anymore. it's impossible to try to get a WR these days. *wanted Irv Swartz*

I never thought you would take Schwartz, you're already pretty deep and talented at WR...hence my attempt to move up to #11...I really really wanted him...

Guys, what should I do? I have a pm from Aylmar confirming the trade, but he hasn't confirmed it in the appropriate thread. I have to be holding off the draft like that...

Here's a copy of the pm:

If you still want to trade down from your 11th spot, I might be interested in moving up. I currently own pick 24 and would be willing to send it your way with my 2nd rounder on top.

In case you don't know, I'm in Europe so if you want to deal, keep in mind the time difference...

Do you have AIM or Yahoo messenger? It might be easier to talk...

I'll take that deal. Post it in the trades forum and I'll confirm.

Do you guys think it's enough to move?

Sorry about the delay...I went off to a meeting right after I sent that PM and just got back to my desk. :)

Not funny at all :(

I still don't know what kind of ratings hit Orumieh is going to take either.

I'll second that feeling Masked. Even though it looks like Flowers did not take a hit, so far at least...

Well, I got who I'd been after without having to trade up. After losing Carpenter, Elway was the #3 guy on our draft board (we weren't considering quarterbacks or tackles, so this pushed him up 3 spots). He immediately moves into the starting lineup and is the best defensive lineman we have.

I haven't checked Flowers - is he completely healed?

Orumieh still has 11 weeks to go.

Yes we are okay at WR but couldnt pass on completing our receiving corps for the next 5 years. Along with our talented young TE and RB and QB free agent signing we should be set in the offensive core for years to come. I would really have liked to get the DT or CB but they went 1 and 2. That left me with a true top notch young WR as my next priority. I did manage to resign Spates which was key. My original concern was not having Spates be available at WR.

Yes he is. And I can already tell you he will out the whole preseason this year!!!

I really like the CB, Carl Blades I took. While he isn't as good as an instant impact player as Joel Sanderson, but he should start for me week 1, and be a pretty good player for a few years.

I liked your CB as well. If I was picking in your spot he would be one I wouldve looked very strongly at grabbing.

Blades was the guy I would have picked if Elway hadn't been there. He should be a solid, well rounded corner. Thankfully I was able to get my replacement for Carpenter though.

Solid corners are difficult to get ahold of in this league, so I think this was a good move on your part. Even though he is not a complete lock-down corner, those are next to impossible to find.

I would assume the clock stops at night. I think he went on at about 10PM last night, and it is just past 9AM now (pacific obviously).
