Gg, Raven Hawk. QB Nolan Scott came out scrambling like a mad man, but after forcing him to turn the ball over 5 times, he was benched in the 3rd. 41 points is our highest point total this season. Still need to iron out some of the wrinkles in the passing game, but Ortiz seems to be coming along and doing just enough to help the offense in most cases for now.

GG TurfToe. Another loss, by only 8 this time. Way more yards than you, but DANG, love your ground game man.

Another week and another key injury for the Rounders. This time McKnight gets sent to the sideline early with a little insult to injury - backup QB Stan Bettle comes in to throw a pick-6 on the very next play:

2-12-LVS23 (2Q: 07:07) Harvey McKnight pass completed to TE Louis Finch for 4 yards. Tackled by ILB Dustin Nordland. Las Vegas's Harvey McKnight was hurt on the play.

3-8-LVS27 (2Q: 06:32) Stan Bettle pass was intended for TE Louis Finch and was intercepted by ILB Dustin Nordland at the LVS31. The interception was returned 31 yards for a TOUCHDOWN! Las Vegas 17, Tucson 9

We wanted to focus on the run a little more this week and we were able to get some good production out of Gmerek; however, the passing game suffered as a result. I'm hoping this was due to McKnight's early exit, but we'll see next week in Honolulu. We have a bye after that to get healthy and make a run down the stretch. It should be interesting.

Good luck the rest of the way! Meaning don't be a hero as there is a lot of competition for the 2059 1.01 currently.

At SCZ, man are they getting their moeny's worth out of Fulton even if he is splitting carries, he is also their leading receiver. They have really committed to the run blocking on the OL in an unprecedented way but I think we will be able to limit them all the same. Another team that has embraced short passing out of base sets and running a LOT out of the 113. On the other side, their own run D looks quite good but I reckon we will do okay overall and put some points on the board.

Stuffed on 3rd and 1 to start for us but a nice punt pins SCZ deep. It s Schreiber who actually is battering us and then they hi tthe FB screen to get a goal to go and Fulton finds paydirt on 3rd adn short. 2 big runs to the left get us to midfield and Holzer gets another chunk for us but the double coverages and pressure get to us in the RZ so we come away with just 3 points SCZ KR goes 80something yards for a quick 7 and they are up 10 now with a missed XP. 2 nice plays downfield to our TEs get us right back in SCZ territory and maligned breakout candidate Fence breaks away from the D but is brought down at their 3 and we pound it in to remain down 3.

FB Lyon hadds another 40 yard gain for SCZ as Kelley wheels away from our pressure and Fulton grabs his 2nd rushing TD on the day. We are clickign for a bit but a holding call sets us back and we miss the long FG atempt. But no, they roughed up our K and we play with fire going ot Crabtree doubled a couple tiems before hitting slot man Sheldon for a TD. DSCZ is grinding again but we get a stop when they target teh FB again and they boto it away from the orange zone. 2 ncie downfield completions for us and we pick up the 3rd and 1 this time and Woodard is finally learnign to stay away from teh doubled Crabtree and he scrambles in for a TD and oru first lead. Kelley continues to dish the rock under pressure but SCZ can't connect on the logn FG attempt.

Well, I thought our run D woudl hold up better but I bet everyoen says that against SCZ. They are really something adn are 4/5 on 3rd as well. We need to tighten up the run D or at least no t give up 30+ yard plays to FBs. On O, we are doing great but Woodard keeps throwing to a constantly doubled Crabtree and we all know he can easily decide to throw 2 INTs in a half.

SCZ fumbles on tehir first play (the 4th of the game but the first that is a TO) and we take advantage to go up 11. THen we pick thei rdeep pass to Pate and hti Crabtree on oru own 50 yard bomb and he gets the TD a couple snaps later. Our rush finally gets through to Kelley and they punt i taway but we can't connect with Crabtree and have another 60+ net yard punt to pin them. Kelley keeps slinging it under fire but getting completions and htey are still runing it well but eat a sack on a 4th and 4 in the orange zone.

No matter we go downtown to Crabtree again but this time the pass flutters and is returned 78 yards for a pick 6 leaving us up 10 after the 2 pointer. Nothing doing for us though and this time they ge ta ncie PR but our rush is disruptign Kelley now. Crabtree has 2 short completions to get us into clockkilling mode inside of 8 minutes but SCZ is very stout up front and they get it back with 4:33 left. Pressure and an aggressive secondary is makign things tough for SCZ and Fulton drops the 4th down attempt and SCZ won't get it back until we are up 13 with a minute left.

Well we didn't exactly stop their running game but won the TO battle by 1 and were very dangerous in teh air. Nice to have Woodard back as we approached 10 ypa and he did well adapting to a double heavy GP by SCZ. We were actually quite efficient about it with very ncie pass pro being a huge difference.

Love what you are doing SCZ, get you a dangerous receiver and plug in some deep passses out o fhte 113 and things could get real interesting.

One more week until we get TE Schulz back and then hopefulyl our O levels up once again.

If I wind up with it, I may have to trade out. With a 1.2 QB and a 1.1 RB, I can't afford another high pick financially in the future.

However, trade for more later picks, I might be able to swing that, and maybe get some impactful players too.

GG Smitty....

I am a little frustrated at the logic of kicking the FG at the end on 4th and goal from the 1..... We have nothing to lose and we played like were trying to keep from being relegated or something.... I knew you would work your way down field for the win..... It was just a matter of.... would it be an 8 play drive or a 2 play Marcus Dole drive.....

Still... The defense did some good things. The offense did some good things ....

and we lost again...... :?

Use it or trade it, the 1.01 is still better than 1.02-1.08.

1.01 probably a two horse race ATM (BAL and TUC)

after that... I dunno, lot of these 3-6 teams have way too much talent...

GG rick,

Weather for the game is 52 degrees and raining with just an 11mph wind...great day for football in Atlantic City. 20,700 passionate Phantom fans saw the beat down.

After the safety, the Brawlers were in trouble. Then Crawdaddy's pick sealed the deal in Atlantic City. The Phantoms' double-teamed WR Fernandez, but he still had a good game. The running game could not get going against the Crawdaddy-led Phantom D.

I like that our division has all open-air stadiums. Good luck,
Dean

GG, Steel.

We got whooped. Was trying to see if Scott was the QB of the future, he held up admirably while Blanchard was held out on Concussion protocol. There must be enough tape on him now to see his tendencies, lol. The wheels came off the track for him. The 5 TO's limited didn't help our defense out either.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Tennessee Time!
