Gg, Smitty. Unreal the amount of penalties our defense got called for, but a couple timely interceptions, and another game winning drive by Ortiz lead us to a victory. See you week 8.

The Mitchem era begins at arch rival Miami who turned things around on O late last season. With him comes a new spread offense but the changes to our actual gameplan are few for now. Let's get right to it...

MIA dinks and dives their way to a 3rd down conversion and then Kemp has 2 consecutive grabs for an opening TD. A penalty on the KR hurts our field position but one catch and run from Crabtree has us near midfield running and one TE catch and run gets us into FG range but a doubled Crabtree can't bring it in on 3rd so we settle for 3. We get a quick stop after one chunk run from MIA and our ground game looks superb with Holzer breaking off a 55 yard gain before pounding it in. But Kemp grabs a deep ball on PA and no one touches him as eh goes 70 yards for the TD We get a coupel intermediate completiosn with Crabtree adding some YAC to get right back into FG range and are again flawless in the RZ to open the 2nd up 3.

MIA is running us over a bit and getting a couple completions to their backs and TEs but we hold them at our 40 and they boot it into the endzone. We keep getting 4-6 yards on the ground and a couple completions get us into scoring range but then our passing game dries up and we hit the long FG. A couple sacks push MIA backwards and we take over just outside of 2 minutes. Fence finally hauls one in on his 4th target and a 3rd down sack leaves us with 4th and long at their 38 and our new K nails it. MAI hits TE ZIehl down the seam and Bordano adds another chunk via YAC but a hold brings it back and MAI runs out of time.

Both Os are flying but our rush ahs warmed up a bit and I think we are getting close to a TO soon.

We go back to the ground game but again a 3rd and manageable is stuffed as they double Crabtree. A great punt punt starts them at their 2 and they get off their end but not much else so we take over with godo field position. Fence gets another YAC chunk for us and we avoid the 3rd down double this time to convert but fall back into that trap inside the RZ and again settle for 3. Great tacklign forces a 3andO from MIA as we grind and 3rd down passing over the middle our way to the 4th quarter and tack on another FG for a 15 point lead.

3andO from MIA as we snuff out their finesse stuff and we are looking ot put this one away. Fence gets another chunk for us and we dink and pound our way to 6 and that is pretty much ballgame.

Well or O moved the ball alright but def improvements to be made to finish drives 5 FGs won't help in some games. Our D really won this game by shutting them down aside from the first 13 minutes. But at least we didn't throw 2 picks and let them back in it.

Hughes got plenty of completions against us but not much YAC if you take away the 70 yarder while our own passing game was not particularly efficient but generated plenty of chunks and was a solid 4/9 on 3rd. Our pair of TEs went 5/5 for 68, Crabtreee was doubled but still got chunks, Fence was inconsistent so everything is as it has been.

We won in the trenches in a big way with a decent rush and good protection and near 50% run block win rate to their 30%.

3 OL, 1 TE and 2 CBs fall victim to the preseason tired bug but that is pretty standard for us...no injuries so that is quite nice.

Good Game Steel, that makes it 7 in a row. Ortiz is special, he can make the throws when you need him too, that game winning drive was amazing to watch.

Maybe we can give you a game in week 8, cya then.

GG DV,
At least we didn't turn the ball over. Now to balance out that run/pass ratio as we're still slinging it too much.

Run Defense disappeared this week. That was disappointing. Plus our pass protection was awful. Got some changes to make but its not hopeless yet.

Jace Graham opens up the 2061 season throwing for 291 yards in a loss to Vegas. Still, with both RBs picking up almost 50 and 9 different receivers, things are looking up for Tucson. Defense gives up only 59 rushing yards, but 288 through the air.

GG Vegas!

The GP still needs tweaked a bit but things are on the right track

gg Sverngold.

Things are looking much better in Tucson these days.

Our offense just doesn't function the same with no offensive line, especially in the running game. We will be revamping the offense quite a bit to help out the o-line.

The defense is still giving up chunk plays but holding firm in the red zone. We have some minor tweaks to make on the defensive side, but nothing as major as on offense.

Good luck until we meet again!

GG RH.....
Really, much closer than it should have been. The safety had an impact, but you guys had this game the whole way.....

We are going to go practice recovering fumbles now..... GL the rest of the year...

Interested to see New Orleans great start....I will be curious to see if they have finally put it all together or if SA is just that bad.

A surprising game for us. Pretty sure this was WR Mason Bakers best yardage game of his career.

Good Luck the rest of the way !!

GG FJG - the Arch running game and defense showed well on opening day as we managed to get a win vs. a division opponent in spite of several mistakes >>> 4 fumbles (2 lost) and 2 interceptions...

I'm not sure !! I planned on starting my rookie and screwed up, so now I need to see if QB Tommy Johnson is going to hold on to the reins.

GG Flex/ ATL.
Womble was not spectacular but kept us in the game. We benefited from turnovers and a few big plays.

I was out all memorial weekend and forgot all about week 1. We didn't play well and didn't deserve to win.

GG - Aamalin.

I was interested to see how each of the 1st Round MLBs would play in their season opener. We were happy to see Carlisle get the safety. Hopefully it is an omen of good things to come in Shreveport for the young defender.

Unfortunately it didn't look like Theodore Miller got any PT in our game. Will look to see him in week 10.

Other than that, we need to work on hanging onto the ball . . .

Good luck. See you week 10!
