Here it goes for the likely division winner determining game. We didn't change much up from our previous matchup, I still feel like we can match up coverage wise and gave FS Bate another shot at being a fulltime starter. On O, they have 3 injuries up front so we did tick up the running a bit. These have been very tight games recently and I expect nothing to change on that front.

WR Geffen gets a huge chunk for EPL early and TE McKenzie gets the conversion on 3rd and 10 but we pick them on the next snap. Fence gives us a nice spark against the blitz after Mitchem dodges the rush and fumbles but we recover as we grind our way to a FG as it looks like DE Allen is playing hurt at least on 3rd down. Another series with a big chunk this time from RB Barker and McKenzie does his thing in the RZ to put ELP up with young EDGE stud Almeida leaving the game on our side. Crabtree gets some YAC for us and Mitchem is dinking well but a holdin call knocks us back and they block the long FG attempt. Barker loses the ball but EPl recovers once more and they tack on a FG to start the 2nd Q.

We moev it conservatively but efficiently into FG range and Crabtree gets a nice 3rd down conversion for us, ELP is sneding 6 in teh RZ but we grind out the tying TD. WR Johnstone pitches in this time with a 40 yard chunk for ELP and it looks liek Ameida is playing some despite the serious injury and forces a sack on 3rd and ELP slices teh FG attempt. We get to FG range easily again but also again dry up there but at least get teh kick in just outside of 2M. ELp gets to FG range with less than a minute left but we tackle well enough to force the FG so go into the half tied up. But wait no, a poor KO leads to a TE completion and then Crabtree catches and runs with the hail mary to have us up 7.

ELP has had a big advantage in field position and has had bigger chunks than us but really things look quite even so far, feelign very fortuanate to steal those 7 points.

3andO for us on O as 3 yards per rush isn't gonna cut it and our LS gets banged up on the punt. ELP converts a 3 3rd as they are going beyond the sticks to their WRs but we hold up once they reach oru 5 so they only get 3. We grind and dink our way to a couple conversions of our own but the rush unsettles us in teh RZ so we go back up 7. Barker converts a 3rd and 16 on the ground on a play that we didn't see in our GPing and Wyatt is still finding WRs 15+ yards downfield more often than not to close out the 3rd and its Barker who slips free underneath to get them the tying TD early in the 4th.

ELP gets a strip sack but we recover and Mitchem slips by the rush to move the chains. We get a coupel procedural penalties and can't connect on 3rd and long with NT Brennan leaving the gaem for ELP. A poor pun tand nice return sets ELP up near midfield and they get another chun on 3rd and medium going out wide but a holding call brings it back and they barely make the long FG with 9 minutes left. We can't run it at all and lose the football but are luck yto recover our 3rd lost fumble on teh day and a failed completion on 3rd and 12 means we have to kick. Former Sodbuster Cunningham fumbles the PR for ELP but they also recover. We get a big sack to get them off the field at 4M and a poor punt means we take over at oru 42. We are in teh hurry up and throw a terrible pick. Barker rips off 24 yards and ELP faces an itneresting decision at our 26 and the 2M mark up 3. They go for the kick and it is a misfire giving us life. Fence gets us 20 adn then 15 to a tleast be in long FG range quickly but we can't do any more and our own FG attempt falls short.

Aaargh, man these games are dramatic. Your WRs def won the matchup this time and those shifty ahtlete RBs have been giving us fits all season. A better RZ performance maybe woulda been enough for us.

DE Almeida is out for 39 weeks which drastically changes our defense. We have a high endurance backup but pretty skeptical of what we can do with just one real edge rusher. ELP has a better divisional record along and is 2 games up in the conference with one more win so I think we will need them to lose out and us win out to take back our division crown..in other words we more than likely lost the division.

Drat. The win streak comes to an end at Texas in OT. We had a chance at the end of regulation but simply couldn't get that 5 more yards to get into FG range. Texas completes the big offensive play and gets the W.

It never pays to take a week off in the CFL. We rolled a stale GP against KCY Monday night and paid the price. Tuesday morning before I left, I ran with the Wk13 FAR offensive GP and the same defensive GP we tried against you back on Wk10. Looks like similar results from Wk10.

I need to go back and watch both of these games to see what all happened, but this puts our post-season hopes in jeopardy. We have to even up with Fargo or pull one ahead of Seattle due to tiebreakers.

I'll try to get back to game planning after this long 2-week break, but it may be too much to overcome at this point.

Good luck the rest of the way!

It seems we rarely put things all together but this is one of those games where we had a chance late with a close score and got a bit lucky. Best of luck the rest of the way.
