At MIA to start things off, the QB Sherman era and playing a couple young rookies for the first time in a long time as we start thinking about our future. MIA is still soli don O and nigh impenetrable on D so not really sure how this will go.

Hughes improvises to find TE Kimsey down the seam for 56 to set up an opening TD with a missed XP. Young 3rd down specialist back Caniglia does his job a couple times and we get one downfield completion off to Sigrest but a sack derails us and we are lucky to get 3. MIA has their next TD taken off the board wth a holding call and pushes their lead to 6 with a nice set runs and short passes.

Sherman tosses his first pick to open the 2nd Q and Hughes scramblesf ro MIA but we hodl inside the 5 so they go up 9. Our 3rd down run comes up short but we get our own 3andO on D. Sherman improvises to find YAC TE Boonover the middle for a nice chunk but we are bottled up in the RZ with consecutive misfires from Sherman and kic the FG to remain down 6 points. A holding call in th secondary gives MIA life but they coem up short on 3rd and long and miss the long FG. Sherman uses his legs a bit in the 2 minute drill and finds paydirt with our rookie G leaving the game as we go up by 1.

Neither team can execute well on 3rd in the 3rd quarter with 4 punts in a row then we find Wr Fence on a fade down teh seam for 50 but a personal foul leads to a 3rd down scramble which we fumble away. More 3andOs as both Ds seem to have the oppposing Os figured out and a pick sets us up at their 40 to open the 4th Q.

This itme we manage to dink and dust our way to a TD and go up 8 with 1 minutes left. A nice PR sets us up in FG range once mroe after another MIA 3andO and while we reach 1st adn goal form teh 1 we settle for 3 points with 5 minues left.

Glad to get a W that is for sure. Our D really buckled down afte ra rough start and while our O was nothing special it was enough this time. Gonan take soem time to figur eout hwo our O can be modified to our new QB but we will get there.

It was a classic Omaha/Durham Rivalry game. That 85 yd TD throw was amazing by Womble, then Stone took a 43 yarder to the house. I was like, no fucking way... Good game Soxnation, get ready for more games like that, our rivalry is one of the oldest in theCFL.
