How about this for an opening week: SLB Victor Ginn - 9 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions (1 returned 81 yards for a touchdown) All of this in a nail-biter where we scored a touchdown with 3 seconds remaining to win 27-24. |

Ernest "The Prophet" Lorenzo has arrived in Cleveland to lead us to the promise land. I couldn't of hoped for a better game on both sides of the ball. If I didn't know better, I'd say that the Flats defense might actually be decent this year. On to Anchorage for our first loss of the year... |

Very impressive game by Dustin Hayes. Terrell Keith was very effective at running the ball as well. |

Congrats, Stretch, your team sucked less than mine! Seriously, though, I am picking your team to win it all. You heard in here first! |

Not a sparkling display by the offense, but it's nice to get a division win even when things aren't working like they should. |

LOL. Our only points (2 TDs) come off of 93 and 95 yard kickoff returns. Clearly we've found Hartford's weakness, because it isn't their rushing game, their passing game, or their defense. |

Atlantic City picked up a nice road win in OT over defending Yankee division champions New York. Props to Chris Millsaps for the following play on the first play of OT: Offense: I-Formation, Normal, Strength = Left. Defense: 34 Alignment, 4-Deep Zone, Run - Aggressive. 1-10-NYK24 (14:54) NYK 16 Pace pass was intercepted by ACI 92 Millsaps at the NYK36. The interception was returned 33 yards. Tackled by NYK 64 Donovan. Colin Sawyer and Lanny Hower also had solid but unspectacular games. |

Man, what a game.... Durham hung on for the win, it was close.... 23-20 I just wish Hurst would stop throwing into double coverage |

[quotea8d835f="duckman"] Very impressive game by Dustin Hayes. Terrell Keith was very effective at running the ball as well.[/quotea8d835f] Thanks. Hayes was a huge question mark coming into the season, and he had a less than stellar preseason. Last night's game was probably one of the better games by an El Paso QB yet. Terrell did have a great game as well. 5.6ypc, two scores, an overall good game. But that's old hat for Terrell, who has had two good years in a row. What REALLY impressed me was our run defense. Despite losing two keep players off of last year's record setting defense we still held Denver (and their stud RB John Lubin) to 2.6ypc. Dexter Neves, who we got from Long Beach in the Ike Roper trade, came up big with five tackles and a pick. Next up, Baltimore. Looks like that game could really be a defensive struggle. |

[quotea7a1a69="TLK"]Ernest "The Prophet" Lorenzo has arrived in Cleveland to lead us to the promise land. It was a battle of ex-Rockets and it looks like Ernest came out on top. Albany's newest addition, Pierre Hinson, had a nice game with nine tackles, but he never got near Ernest. No sacks, no hurries, no pass blocks. |

I couldn't make the chat last night. Anyone have the transcript? Huntington Beach escaped with the win but I am not happy with the performance of our defense. |

I'm still stunned by our win over Las Vegas. I was expecting a very close game, one that might not have gone our way. But 41-17? Wow, that's crazy. We put together a nearly complete game. The offense was on fire (470 total yards), featuring last year's OROY Drew Holliday leading the way with a 27-127-2TD performance. Backup RB Daryl Bradley, last year's fumble king, chipped in 16-110-1TD, and Milan Hogan had an efficient 25/35-232-1-1 game. We also managed a stellar 12/18 3rd down conversion rate. Our defense held poor Lenny "Jackpot" Olsen to 4/25 for 68 yds, 1 TD & 2 INTs, and the Rounders to 99 yards of total offense(!). They were also 0/10 on 3rd down and held the ball for just 16:42. I can't express how impressed (and surprised!) I am by our defense - and how lucky we got (Olsen was 4/25? 0/10 on 3rd down? That's crazy kinda luck!). Anyway, you have my condolences TurfToe. I'm expecting that the Rounders are more than a little steamed about their performance. I fear that our rematch will be a brutal battle. |

We all know I like to Jerry-Jones my team and usually have my fingers in the mix more than I should. With my absence for the entire preseason, Coach Strong tried a little to hard to win meaningless games. Our starters looked a little tired and Jackpot confessed to spending the entire night before the game with you-know-who. The bitch has been sent packing, again, and a little TurfToe influence will be sufficiently applied this week in practice. I don't mind getting embarrassed by a good team, it's not like we lost to San Antonio or anything. We can still reach our goal if we manage to beat the Toros at home later this year. Our season will be a success if we can win 3+ games in the division. That was our initial goal and it still is. That means we have to split with everyone or sweep Arizona and split with either of the two powerhouses in our division. I expect Olsen to put up better numbers in the first quarter next week than he did in the entire game last week. We have a few dings here and there but expect an entirely different performance against a strong Shreveport squad. Hairy Weir or no Weir there. |
