In his first four seasons he played in all 64 games with 51 starts and has compiled career stats of 197 tackles and 14 interceptions. He also was named to the 2007 All-League 2nd Team before becoming an unrestricted free agent. Today he signed a contract with the San Antonio Stingers for $21 million over 5 years, including $6 million in guaranteed money. The other big news of the day happened in Hartford, where the Attack added even more talent to the roster that went 15-1 last year. NT [baf857d1]Albert Poole[/baf857d1] was acquired from the Anchorage Wolfpack in exchange for some 2010 draft picks. Poole's contract has him earning $4 million in base salary for 2008, but Hartford may renegotiate that contract as they are close to the salary cap already with only 33 players signed. |

Boyd will challenge Vince Flowers for a starting job this year. Either way, we will have a solid nickel back. With these 2 plus last year's 1st round pick Derrick Ardrey and a healthy Michael Hubbard at the SS our defense will be much improved against the pass this year. |
