<img src="http://www.thecfl.net/images/pressman/aljordan.jpg" width="230" height="327" alt="Al Jordan" title="Al Jordan" align="right">In a day of shocking developments, the #1 overall pick passed from Atlantic City to Boise, and then from Boise to Detroit who gave up three first round picks and two second round picks to select their quarterback of the future, [b5c577bb]Johnnie Titone[/b5c577bb].

But the excitement didn't end there, and soon afterwards the Chicago Hitmen traded up two spots to select LT [b5c577bb]Al Jordan[/b5c577bb] from Notre Dame. Jordan was virtually unbeatable in college, and has the rare combination of strength, size, explosion, and agility.

Atlantic City then selected LT [b5c577bb]Craig VanEck[/b5c577bb] from Arizona State at #3. VanEck is short for a CFL offensive lineman (6'0"), but he should also develop into a superstar and will have the job of protecting Colin Sawyer's blind side.

The #4 pick raised some eyebrows, as the Fargo Boxcars selected SS [b5c577bb]Ricardo Campo[/b5c577bb] out of Iowa State. Most draft boards had Campo going around #12 overall.

The Tampa Bay Torpedoes are currently on the clock with the #5 pick and are talking to several teams about trades.

Expect the following players to be selected quickly later today:
QB [b5c577bb]Nolan Shannon[/b5c577bb] - N. Carolina Central
WR [b5c577bb]Trent Muir[/b5c577bb] - Miami, Florida
WR [b5c577bb]Ernie Cooley[/b5c577bb] - Temple
G [b5c577bb]Bob Wells[/b5c577bb] - South Carolina
G [b5c577bb]Kelvin Battle[/b5c577bb] - Mississippi
T [b5c577bb]Lester Allen[/b5c577bb] - Oklahoma State
DE [b5c577bb]Norman Rodgers[/b5c577bb] - Virginia
DE [b5c577bb]Jared Wilcox[/b5c577bb] - Fresno State
LB [b5c577bb]Jorge Leone[/b5c577bb] - Michigan
CB [b5c577bb]Clyde Alston[/b5c577bb] - Louisiana State
