Well, my team is in for a long ride. Our offense was ineffective. Our defense is not very good. We were dominated in every aspect of the game. Tulsa should pound on us this week.

WILB James "The Savior" Crist rebreaks his leg....35 weeks. Oburn, his backup, intercepts a pair of passes and runs one of them back for a TD. Sigh, I thought when Crist went to 'Probable', he'd be okay to start...I guess Oburn will get a lot of playing time this year as well.

We did a nice job on offense. Nice to see the Polish Express get off to a good start this season...

3 INTs and 5 sacks. Welcome to the CFL, Shannon. Although he did have 254 passing yards and a TD. And our rivalry continues.... :)

I thought Shannon did ok. I was also impressed with Hoffman. He hit some passes and only threw 1 pick. However, I need to find a way to get T.J Green more involved and maybe give Woodard some more carries.

Shannon did well running with the ball too, which is something I was hoping for out of him with some other missing pieces around the team...

We'll see how it pans out, but I definately expected this year to have growing pains for him...

We had a good opener, beating Anchorage 25-10, but we lost a couple guys to injury. Our starting center is done for the year, one of starting safetys is out for 5 weeks, and our best Defensive tackle is doubtful for the next month. Plus our left tackle is questionable for this week's game.

I was feeling pretty unlucky until I took a look at my next opponent's roster. Boston had even more injuries than me this week. Both their starting tackles are out, one for 3 weeks and one for 11. They've lost star Defensive End Isaiah Melo for 23 weeks, and their other great DE Ralph Crank is questionable for the next 3 weeks. They'll also be without their starting FB (3 weeks) and RCB (7 weeks). Yikes!

Yikes indeed! Now I don't feel so bad about trading him away in the offseason. Sorry flere!

The Good: It's Chicago and it's a win. We were very lucky that Jeffery McNeil missed 3 FG's.

The Bad: I'm not happy with a single aspect of my team. No rushing attack, receivers dropping passes, no rush defense etc....

The Ugly: Toby Radke was brought in to be an improvement over Lang, however he put up very Langesque numbers. 12 carries for 22 carries. Your starter for Week 2... Wilbur Sullivan.

And damn - Arizona put the hurt on my poor Toros. It was only an 8 point loss on the road, but we scored 16 points in the last 2:37 to make the final score respectable.

I knew this was going to be a loss just 2 minutes into the game - at which point we'd already had two safeties injured and fumbled the ball away in our own territory.

Dude, welcome to 2008, the year of the Rounders.

Man, what's a guy gotta do around here to get some respect?!

Here's a pre-emptive reply for Shreveport: We don't need kneepads like you good ole boys in the Deep South Division...

And while I'm whining - what the hell is up with my "star" wideout, Carl Markey? 2 catches, 52 yards, 1 TD. That's nice. But he was targeted 11 times and had [iaeb3cb6]four[/iaeb3cb6] drops, two of which were on critical third downs.

Four drops in a single game? Is that a record? Sheesh.

You should inform him that it is not the record, and he needs to try harder to break the record next week.

Arrrgh. Parks better come back full strength.

Gonna be a LONNNNG year.

Damnit, with a 28-17 lead in the fourth quarter you shouldn't feel safe with Landon Hurst as the opponents' QB. The recovered onside kick and Alvarado's 51-yd FG to force overtime was the decapitating blow.

[b5bf2767]The Good[/b5bf2767]: The run-heavy gameplan (63 rush attempts to 18 pass attempts) gives us the win over Atlantic City with a whopping 40 minutes of possession. [b5bf2767]RB Toothpick Lang[/b5bf2767] carries 39 times for 170 yards and 2 TDs. :)

[b5bf2767]The Bad[/b5bf2767]: After the two initial TDs, we can't do much on offense and look kind of ineffective. However, a lot of this might be due to:

[b5bf2767]The Ugly[/b5bf2767]:

Starting RDE Isaiah Melo Out, Plantar Fascitis, 23 weeks (he'll be placed on IR)
Starting LT Michael Nelson Out, Severe Hamstring Pull, 11 weeks
Starter/Nickel back CB Chris McEachern Out, Broken Clavicle, 7 weeks
Starting FB David Evans Out, Hyperextended Knee, 4 weeks
Starting RT Jaime Barnard Out, Strained Calf Muscle, 3 weeks
Starting LDE Ralph Crank Questionable, Bruised Ribcage, 3 weeks

:(

Dammit! I forgot to change my "Starter's Playing Time" and it was all still set at 1. I'm sure that had something to do with our miserable defensive showing... :(
