Haven't seen this thread around so far this season, so let's start one!

[u854e144]Wild card round:[/u854e144]

[b854e144]Durham @ New Orleans[/b854e144] - NO
The toughest one for me to predict. The Horde, just because it plays at home.

[b854e144]NY @ Detroit[/b854e144] - Detroit
Even with the rough season we had, I believe the Vampires match up well against New York.

[b854e144]Tucson @ Sacramento[/b854e144] - Tucson
Sacramento barely made the playoffs, Tucson is finally more or less healthy.

[b854e144]Tulsa @ Honolulu[/b854e144] - Tulsa
Tulsa is finishing the season hot, Talons with the upset win over experienced Honolulu. Plus, the Wave has never beaten Tulsa!

don't anger the dragons. we may have barely made the playoffs, but we didn't back our way in. 6-2 over our last 8 games with the two losses being very close to playoff teams (Tulsa and Detroit). Had Barre not gone down early in the season, we would've had 12 wins easy.

Durham, Detroit, Sacramento, Honolulu

I could go either way on all of them, but I'll go with:

[b922c4c1]Durham[/b922c4c1] - They have a great defense and New Orleans has been a little inconsistent this year.

[b922c4c1]New York[/b922c4c1] - I could go either way, and with Detroit basically underachieving this year, I kind of expect them to get it together in the playoffs, but I was impressed with New York this year, and they took us into overtime so I'll go with them.
[b922c4c1]
Sacramento[/b922c4c1] - I'm going with the Dragons because of the injuries Tucson has on defense plus the game being in Sacramento. This might be the closest of the 4.

[b922c4c1]Honolulu[/b922c4c1] - I might pick Tulsa if the game weren't at Honolulu. It's hard to pick against Ronnie Tu in the playoffs.

I just realized that I picked all 4 different from FFF.

[u06d4943]Wild card round:[/u06d4943]

[b06d4943]Durham @ New Orleans[/b06d4943] - New Orleans
I think this one could turn into a shootout, and with one of our starting cornerbacks out (why my coach put him on kickoff coverage duties last week I'll never know), I can see the Raging Whores pulling this one out.

[b06d4943]New York @ Detroit[/b06d4943] - Detroit
If Detroit can stop WR Cowley from making a big play, they should pull this one out. Interesting note: this is both teams 5th playoff appearance in 6 seasons!

[b06d4943]Tucson @ Sacramento[/b06d4943] - Sacramento
I really don't know who to pick for this one, but due to injuries, I'll give the edge to the Dragons.

[b06d4943]Tulsa @ Honolulu[/b06d4943] - Tulsa
Tulsa's first playoff game should be a win. Besides the season finale, Tulsa had won 7 in a row and Butch Fulton had over 100 yards in each of those 7 games, including 224 yards in week 14.

[b1567f9f]Durham @ New Orleans[/b1567f9f] - Durham
Meathole gets Meatholed by Durham. NO has the team, but the Bulldogs have Motormouth. I'm surprised that he hasn't said anything . . .

[b1567f9f]New York @ Detroit - Detroit[/b1567f9f] - New York
New York has a tough team. It's real hard to pick against Detroit here, but Detroit really hasn't gotten it done all season, even with their monster roster.

[b1567f9f]Tucson @ Sacramento[/b1567f9f] - Honolulu
I'm not sold on Tucson, but their fate dictates that they will be eliminated by Honolulu, therefore, they need to win this round to meet their fate. In the end Honolulu wins this game, even though their not playing in it.

[b1567f9f]Tulsa @ Honolulu[/b1567f9f] - Honolulu
How can you pick against Honolulu and all their playoff experience. Ronnie Tu chalks up another playoff victory.

Most insightful and accurate analysis I've seen. Might as well slap a 2009 tag on that as well.

I'd like to suggest Monkeys-Off-Your-Back Anonymous to see if they can help...ooooh, sorry, MOYBA won't be of any help, after researching the group I noticed they are based in, you guessed it, Honolulu.

Sorry Foz, you poor bastard.

Let me tell you a story....

There once was a team named the Whores
Who caused others to break out in sores
They were playing okay
Until one game day
When Motormouth said, "Up yours!"

And then the final whistle blew
The scoreboard said DUR 42
And next to N.O.
Was a big fat zero
Then Motormouth said, "F.U."

So listen to me, Mr. Kranz
When you see me lined up in my stance
I'm coming for you
And Creel, you too
You guys don't stand a chance!

Durham @ New Orleans - Durham
No disrespect intended toward Meatholes, but Durham is damn tough and this matchup favors them, even on the road. Durham has one of the best pass defenses in the league, and New Orleans is a pass-first team. New Orleans' defense is in the bottom half of the league overall in terms of YPC and YPA, yet somehow they've given up the third fewest points overall. That kind of defensive profile smacks of smoke-and-mirrors. As long as Kimber doesn't go INT-happy this one will go Durham's way.

New York @ Detroit - Detroit - New York
Mathias has been a bit of a disappointment in Detroit, putting together a few good seasons but never becoming the Next Great Quarterback most pegged him to be. Combine that with a stagnant running game and Detroit will have a tough time with New York. The Vampires D is what has kept them alive this season, but they'll need to force turnovers against a strong New York offense that as a rule doesn't cough up the ball. The Mathias era will end with a thud.

Tucson @ Sacramento - Sacramento
I realize by picking against my own team I risk incurring the wrath of the Football Gods and am probably also not doing any favors to the morale of my make-believe players. However, the Toros defense is a mess right now with four starters out. The backups have done a decent job, but I don't see them being able to stop the Barre-Rounds Express. Mix in the loss of our best offensive lineman and this one could get ugly.

Tulsa @ Honolulu - Tulsa
We played Tulsa earlier this year and were lucky to escape with a win. They are a tough team with a great run defense, so while Honolulu's Bellisari may have run for 27-152-1 against Arizona he'll find the going much rougher against Tulsa. Honolulu's attack will likely become one-dimensional, and Ronnie Tu was a bit off his game this year with a career-low 55% completion percentage (helped by the effort of my Toros defense, I might add, who held him to just 36/80 for 482 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT in two games against us). Still, the 11-year veteran has some gas left in the tank and has shown he can carry the Blue Pacific for long stretches. This one will be close, but I think Tulsa's superior team effort (led by MVP candidate Butch Fulton) will outshine the effort of Honolulu's one true playmaker.

As much as I would love to think I can win this game, I just really think Honolulu has me beat...Its hard to bet against a QB with 2 superbowl rings, especially when the oposing QB is making his first ever playoff start. If Fulton has a good day, which he should against honolulu's suspect running D, then we could have a chance. Either way it will be a great game, and I'm really looking forward to my teams progress over the next few seasons :D

I have absolutely no analysis to back up my picks. Those who were not selected by me will find comfort in the fact that I'm usually floating around 20% on CFL Playoff accuracy, both in public and private selections.

I'm just hoping for some good games to watch.

It's hard to go against any of the home teams, who are all clearly superior on paper at least.

I did choose one upset special, Tulsa. Just a hunch...

I actually think Tulsa has the best shot at the upset, but I can't pick against my guys.

Sacramento is a good team that would've had a better record if their qb didn't miss several weeks. The defending champs will be tough to take out, but I can imagine Sacramento getting it done.
