<img src="http://www.thecfl.net/images/pressman/lang.JPG" width="175" height="302" alt="Toothpick Lang" title="Toothpick Lang" align="right"> BOISE (AP)The Boise Stampede held their annual pre-season press conference this afternoon, and this year's event had a particularly faith-based feel.
"We had a priest, a rabbi, a muslim sheikh and a bunch of others," Boise Coach Johnnie Sutter said. "They're all praying like crazy for Toothpick's knee."
The Stampede traded for running back Toothpick Lang, whose season was cut short a year ago with an MCL tear.
"We took a big risk in trading for Toothpick," Sutter said. "We're asking the people of Boise to pray. Whatever your faith is. Just pray for his knee."
The people of Boise have not been this united since the potato worker riots of 1983.
"We had some Apaches out here earlier. They did some kind of healing dance," Sutter explained. "Some local pagans sacrificed a goat. It's great to see everyone rally around Toothpick like this."

Here's praying that his MCL heals to the point that he can support enough body weight to undergo the same surgery on his other knee.

Timmy-

Nowhere in your press release did you mention praying to the CFL gods. This slight cannot be overlooked.

I hereby declare, on my authority as the One True Prophet of the Gods of the CFL, that Toothpick Lang is doomed. DOOMED!

That sounds pretty serious, almost as bad as being Toro Doomed, heh?

So hey, I made it down to probable for one week with no change in his ratings. Am I in the clear yet?

I suggest playing him this week, with his playing time up to 10. We should figure it out after that....

Doesn't really matter. If he's going to get hurt he'll either take a big hit when he gets back to 100%, or he will get re-injured soon.

It looks like Toothpick survived the injury. Prehaps we should start a pool on his numbers for 2009. A new team with the possibility of injury, would make for a lot of variables.

His situation makes it pretty tough to predict. I don't even really know what I expect, and he's on my team.
