With the 10th pick in the draft the Bombers selected RB Tyrone Rison from Oklahoma. Soon afterwards Rison was traded to Chicago and now Jonathan Sill will be the starter again. QB Philip Barbieri has quietly thrown for over 4,000 yards three seasons in a row. TE Daniel Gendron set a team record with 79 receptions in 2009, and now has 430 in his career (3rd most for TEs). 2007 defensive rookie of the year, FS Robbie Umphenour, keeps getting better and better and is already the leader of the secondary.

[b41ceb81]18. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet20.jpg" width="35" height="35"> New York Knights[/b41ceb81] (10-6) Owner: Noisaddct

Last year New York missed the playoffs for the first time since 2004. The team just wasn't the same after WR Douglas Cowley tore his ACL in week 6. Cowley will also miss the entire 2010 season. The Knights hope that RB Terrell Keith is the answer at running back. Keith has 5 straight 1,000 yard seasons, but has never averaged 3.9 yards/carry. CB Mark Tatum had a terrible 2009 season after having a sensational 2008. The other starting CB will be James Jones, who was signed as a free agent during the offseason.

[b41ceb81]19. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet30.jpg" width="35" height="35"> San Antonio Stingers[/b41ceb81] (10-6) Owner: Shooter

The season hasn't even started yet and the injury report lists five players with leg injuries ranging from surgery to compound leg fractures. QB Eddie Crawford will miss all of 2010 so the Stingers traded for Ernest Lorenzo. Last year's #2 overall pick, DE J.J. Houston, should become a fearsome pass rusher now that he has gotten past his rookie year. This year's 1st round draft pick, G Jonathan Copeland will get to learn from the best: Rocky Dayton. Dayton enters his 17th season and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down.

[b41ceb81]20. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet22.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Memphis Express[/b41ceb81] (9-7) Owner: GoldenEagle

Memphis put together a 3-game winning streak and a 4-game winning streak last year, but the offense wasn't consistent enough through the season to reach the playoffs. Their defense was 6th in points allowed, and now LB Melvin Dowling (8 sacks in 2009) is holding out and hoping to collect some of Memphis' remaining cap room. RB Stephen Metz had 481 yards in the first 8 games, and then exploded for 841 over the last 8 games to finish with a career high 1,322.

[b41ceb81]21. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet00.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Arizona Outlaws[/b41ceb81] (10-6) Owner: Condors

The Outlaws got off to a 6-1 start last year (after starting 1-10 in 2008) but they haven't made any moves this offseason to improve their team. No free agent signings. Even their five draft picks are all unsigned. QB Freddie Mathias is good, but he doesn't have the receivers to throw to. DE O.J. James still has a lot to learn, and is a few seasons away from potential stardom. On the positive side, RB Artie Sonntag had his best year in 2009 (1,191 rushing yards, 13 TDs) and that is thanks to the best pair of run blocking tackles in the league, Colin Downs and Leroy Banks.

[b41ceb81]22. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet07.jpg" width="35" height="35"> El Paso Rockets[/b41ceb81] (6-10) Owner: JeeberD

El Paso has restocked their defense and should be better than last season. DT Derick Javier has come back to El Paso after a journey through Boise and Shreveport. The team used its top 4 draft picks to select defensive players: 1.11 CB Broderick Brandon, 1.17 FS Emmanuel Beadnell, 1.31 SLB Wally Romig, and 2.11 NT Bobby Rabach. The two projected starting cornerbacks, Brandon and Jeffrey Dressler, have two different styles, so it will be a challenge to come up with a defensive gameplan that utilizes them both.

[b41ceb81]23. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet02.jpg" width="35" height="35"> New Orleans Raging Horde[/b41ceb81] (4-12) Owner: Meatholes

For the second time in three years New Orleans has selected a QB in the first round of the draft. This year it was J.J. Kaeding from Pittsburgh, and it was Aaron Henke from Notre Dame in 2008. Kaeding and Henke will battle it out in the preseason for the starting job. New Orleans' other first round pick, WR Ryan Clark, hasn't signed a contract yet but has the potential to be a superstar. New Orleans is rebuilding for the future and currently have the 2nd youngest roster in the CFL (average age = 26.6).

[b41ceb81]24. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet04.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Oregon Ice[/b41ceb81] (6-10) Owner: Grid Iron

Oregon has 19 new players overall, including 6 new players that are projected to start. The biggest names on that list are RB Toby Radke and CB Erwin Koch, who cost the Ice five draft picks, including two 1st rounders. Oregon is Radke's 6th team in 8 years. His best season was in 2005 when he rushed for 728 yards and 6 TDs for Hartford. Radke has only four 100-yard games in his career, but hasn't fumbled since 2006 (about 400 carries).

[b41ceb81]25. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet13.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Atlantic City Phantoms[/b41ceb81] (7-9) Owner: General Mike

Atlantic City finished at the bottom of the Yankee division for the 4th time in the last 5 seasons. Their 3-game winning streak against Hartford came to an end in week 10 when the Attack took a 31-0 lead at halftime and easily won 38-6. In each of QB Colin Sawyer's three seasons he has improved in completion percentage, passing yards, and rating. 5th year CB Willie Golalic has been a 1st-team selection for the past two seasons. The Phantoms also have a decent set of veterans, including WR Rueben Albertson, LB Adrian Queen, and RB Lanny Hower.

[b41ceb81]26. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet09.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Huntington Beach Capitalists[/b41ceb81] (7-9) Owner: Castlerock

QB Clarence Lincoln dislocated his knee in week 8 and never returned. Jesus Dennis took over that day and threw three 2nd half TD passes in a 35-28 victory over Las Vegas. The Capitalists won the next four games as well, but lost 4 of their last 5 to fail to reach the playoffs. Veteran tackle Joel Cheeks was signed to a 1-year contract and gives Huntington Beach the deepest set of offensive tackles in the league.

[b41ceb81]27. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet17.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Anchorage Wolfpack[/b41ceb81] (5-11) Owner: Stretch

QB Lane Manuel had a 20-to-4 TD-to-INT ration in 2009 which resulted in a career best passer rating of 89.2. His favorite target was future hall of famer Kelley McCaleb (79-1,420-8 TDs). WR Jeffrey Alonzo also broke 1,000 receiving yards and had 9 TDs. The team's 2.6 draft pick, G Gerald Fredrickson, looks better than their 1.23 pick, C Rubberlegs Thomason. In fact, last year's 6th round pick, C Cedric Waladkewics could end up starting over Thomason.

[b41ceb81]28. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet12.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Albany Crows[/b41ceb81] (3-13) Owner: thater

Albany has had great success in the draft the past two years, but are still a season or two away from challenging Detroit for the Great Lakes division. Last year's #1 overall draft pick, QB Norm Fish, threw 9 TDs and 25 INTs in his rookie year and should even those numbers out this year. Offensive rookie of the year RB Archie Chasser is already the backfield leader in his second season. Overall, the Crows roster consists of 26 rookies, and only 7 players with 10+ years of experience.

[b41ceb81]29. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet15.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Long Beach Calibiri[/b41ceb81] (4-12) Owner: daedalus

Long Beach only made one draft pick, 1.4 SS Grady Barlow. He should start right away and should be the best player in the Calibiri secondary by the end of his rookie season. Joining him as a new face in the defensive backfield will be CB Adolph Means, who was tagged and traded by Cleveland. Starting QB Joshua Urrutia was allowed to leave via free agency, so Charles McMillan takes the job back over. He started all 16 games in 2007 and had 2,922 passing yards with 16 TDs and 17 INTs. That year he led Long Beach to their only playoff appearance and almost pulled off an amazing comeback, but ended up losing 24-17 in the wild card round.

[b41ceb81]30. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet11.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Chicago Hitmen[/b41ceb81] (2-13-1) Owner: dberner30

Chicago has 31 total victories in 7 CFL seasons, the lowest total of any team. But the team made some personnel moves in the offseason to turn this team around: QB Kerry Wells was drafted #1 overall, SS Cornelius Drake was drafted #9 overall, CB Jay Gohl was drafted #21 overall, and the #10 overall selection, RB Tyrone Rison, was brought in via trade. The Hitmen also have some other future stars from recent drafts: LT Al Jordan, TE Gerald Thorpe, DT Matthew D'Ottavio, and CB Casey Duran.

[b41ceb81]31. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet05.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Santa Cruz Privateers[/b41ceb81] (3-13) Owner: Fastcat

Santa Cruz had 3 of the top 7 picks in this year's draft, and used them to select LB Jeffrey Whitfield, DE Hunter Alcott, and G Ted Matsumura. Unconvinced that QB Deon Tucker will ever be a quality starter in this league, the Privateers brought in Ian Levine and Vince Paz in free agency. Neither of them looks like the answer either, so the starting job may fall to rookie Fred Farrar out of USC who was drafted in the 2nd round.

[b41ceb81]32. <img src="http://www.thecfl.net/cfl/helmet28.jpg" width="35" height="35"> Cleveland Flats[/b41ceb81] (5-10-1) Owner: TLK

Cleveland does have a pair of decent kickers, but it's the punter who will be seeing a lot of action this year. Cleveland's defense has a few solid veterans, such as SS Elijah Roy. Roy is entering his 13th year and has started 110 games for Cleveland with 27 interceptions. LBs Kris Ober and Mikel Bussard are tough against the run, and FS Alvin McCloskey can come up and stuff the run too.

Lets hope you are right and this takes us in the right direction.

So we can mock Taco for putting them so high?
