Six regular season games left....and the way things are going this year we'll probably have to determine if an 11-5 record is better than a 10-4-2 record. [b0e4b7f1]Eastern Conference[/b0e4b7f1] 1. [b0e4b7f1]Hartford Attack[/b0e4b7f1] (8-2) James Oberg is making a case for MVP. He is averaging 300 passing yards per game and has 24 TDs (1st in CFL) to only 5 INTs for a rating of 111.9. 2. [b0e4b7f1]Detroit Vampires[/b0e4b7f1] (8-2) A pair of last minute scores by Hartford and Durham are all that has kept the Vampires from a perfect 10-0 record. 3. [b0e4b7f1]Charleston Monitors[/b0e4b7f1] (8-2) Charleston has the league's best red zone defense, only allowing 4.3 points per visit (only 10 TDs in 26 visits). 4. [b0e4b7f1]Shreveport Pride[/b0e4b7f1] (7-2-1) Their win over San Antonio in week 11 gives them a comfortable 3 1/2 game lead in the Deep South Division. 5. [b0e4b7f1]Tampa Bay Torpedoes[/b0e4b7f1] (8-2) QB Joshua Urrutia has never missed a start in 8 seasons and is 1 win away from clinching his first winning season since 2005. 6. [b0e4b7f1]Boston Panthers[/b0e4b7f1] (7-3) Best 3rd down team on both sides of the ball. Offense: converted 55.5% (1st in CFL). Defense: allow conversion 36.7% (1st in CFL). --------------------------------------------- Atlantic City Phantoms (5-5) Albany Crows (5-5) Baltimore Bombers (4-5-1) San Antonio Stingers (4-6) Durham Bulldogs (3-6-1) New Orleans Raging Horde (3-7) New York Knights (3-7) Memphis Express (2-7-1) Chicago Hitmen (2-8) Cleveland Flats (1-9) --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- [b0e4b7f1]Western Conference[/b0e4b7f1] 1. [b0e4b7f1]Honolulu Bloodthirsty Beagles[/b0e4b7f1] (8-1-1) QB Comparison - Kranz (8-0), 23 TDs, 4 INTs - Burton (0-1-1), 1 TD, 4 INTs 2. [b0e4b7f1]Denver Dynomite[/b0e4b7f1] (7-3) Best turnover margin in league: +15. Backup RB Dale Farrar filled in nicely for the injured John Lubin last week against Tulsa. 3. [b0e4b7f1]Sacramento Dragons[/b0e4b7f1] (7-3) After getting shut out 31-0 by Denver in week 4 the Dragons have won 6 in a row. 4. [b0e4b7f1]Boise Stampede[/b0e4b7f1] (6-4) QB Branden Lin is listed as questionable with a sprained knee. Lin has only thrown 1 INT this year in 7 games, while backup Durant threw 2 last week. 5. [b0e4b7f1]Tucson Toros[/b0e4b7f1] (7-3) Three challenging games ahead: Hartford (8-2), Denver (7-3), and Boston (7-3). Toros are 1-2 against teams with winning records this year. 6. [b0e4b7f1]Fargo Boxcars[/b0e4b7f1] (7-3) Overachieving pass defense is led by journeyman CB Travis Bridges, 3 INTs. 10 different Boxcar players have interceptions. --------------------------------------------- Tulsa Talons (6-4) Seattle Thunderbirds (5-5) El Paso Rockets (4-5-1) Huntington Beach Capitalists (4-5-1) Arizona Outlaws (4-6) Anchorage Wolfpack (4-6) Oregon Ice (4-6) Santa Cruz Privateers (2-7-1) Long Beach Calibiri (2-7-1) |

Normally I'd be very happy to be 6-4...but this year especially in the Cavalry division 6-4 just isn't good enough. |

That 1-3 vs your direct rivals spells D-O-O-M ... For chrissakes, even El Paso has a better divisional record than you guys! |

The overacheivers have been the reserves Bridges, Bauer and McEachern, who I had to grab in free-agency. My starters have been out lately. Depth is critical when you're as old as the Boxcars. I took over a team with only 28 under contract (not counting the middle linebacker that was already out for the season before it began) and just one draft pick, a seventh rounder. This team is one motley crew. We'll work on cohesion later. It ain't real good right now. But we'll see... |
