[list86a120e][*86a120e]Hartford finishes season as #1, just like in 2007 and '08. [*86a120e]Top 11 make the playoffs. [*86a120e]Tucson highest ranked team to miss playoffs at #12 [*86a120e]Boston lowest ranked team to make playoffs at #13 [*86a120e]Las Vegas edge out of last place with first win in final week [*86a120e]Most improved team: Albany went from #31 in 2009 to #15 in 2010. [*86a120e]Durham and Las Vegas take biggest plunge, both lose 20 spots compared to 2009 final rankings. [/list86a120e] [img86a120e]http://gaillardpatrick.free.fr/FOF_Leag ... 010_17.jpg[/img86a120e] Best possible score: 134 pts Worst possible score: -135 pts Thus concludes another year of FFF rankings. Good luck to all playoff teams! |

Ohh well, I guess we like being the underdog...[/quotee4c17ec] I must say your ranking puzzled me as well at first glance. But taking a closer look, here's the take. First, head to head results are not taken into account. Second, your offense and defense are in fact not better than Tampa's. Tampa is rated respectively 5th/5th, yours 7th/12th. They also have a better turnover ratio. They also have a better in-game FOF power rating. |

We moved up from 29th after week 3 to third at the end of the year. Not bad. Thanks for doing the rankings every week, fff. They're sweet. |

We'd like to thank Honolulu and Arizona for being so bad that they could not beat us in two of our games this year. My 20 spot drop appears to be about 1 per significant player loss. On a positive note, we have more guys on our roster now than when we started (61). |

So when something appears to be a miss I'm going to raise a fuss about it.. That's just me, that's the way I roll.. |

I believe fff uses scoring offense and defense for his rankings. It looks like Tampa is just a little better than you at both of those. |

Hey, all that matters to me JJ is the 0-2 against you I love these rankings FFF, and I totally see the logic in using scoring offense/defense rather than bulk yardage... to me it's the most important stat. |

[quote7b8fe80="JJ Smitty"]Hey FFF, the only reason I'm ranting is because I take your ratings seriously and this league very seriously.. So when something appears to be a miss I'm going to raise a fuss about it.. That's just me, that's the way I roll..[/quote7b8fe80] No problem whatsoever. Part of the reason I do the rankings is to spark discussion in the league. I also don't have a problem answering specific questions on how the rankings are calculated, there's no secret at all. In fact, at least 2 other FOF players already have my file. Like timmy said, the offensive and defensive stats I use are points for and against, not necessarily the best category to use, but the easiest one for me to pull out of the game. If total yards for and against was readily available in game, I would probably use that too, but alas it is not the case. Like I mentionned in a previous post, your final ranking actually confused me as well, to a point that I double checked the data I'd entered. Also, fwiw, after a few tweaks in the first couple of seasons, the formula I've used has been the same for the past few seasons, so you can compare your score from one season to the other, if you want. |
