I moved my drafted RCB, Josh Jammer, to LCB. Now that I have gotten another decent corner in FA and I missed on all the safeties, I looked at moving Jammer to SS and it looks as though he will go up a few points since he fits the bill.

My question is (and to continue a discussion from earlier in the draft) what is the likelihood that he will be as the game shows him as far as the new position?

Is this something to definitely do before camp?

TIA!

save some before and after screen shots. thats how i do it to compare. as far as switching the rookies i usually wait until after training camp to see how they turn out at there drafted position. other wise you won't know if it was the position change that caused them to bust/boom or if they were going to bust/boom anyway. just my approach. i have a couple of rookie LG's i've brought in and depending on how they come out of camp one of them will be moved to C or RG, i have the same situation at CB going on.

As I've said, I like to do it before camp. I think the earlier you make the change the better.

Once the export comes back, he will likely be within a couple of points of what he looks like when you make the switch. (This is not true of veteran players where you can see a wide variety of results, but seems to hold true for rookies.) I've moved rookies Derek Meadows and Riddick Angelou already this year. Meadows came out exactly what he looked like when I made the change and Angelou came back a point higher in future.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that if the game says he could gain, the worst case scenario is that he will stay the same. I don't think you'll be running any risk of him taking a ratings hit.

As has been mentioned, if you make the switch at this stage, though, you won't get a look at him until after training camp. In other words, you won't get a look at his preliminary numbers, which don't necessarily mean much anyway. So he could (and likely will) come out of camp better or worse. You're about to get a look at his true colors as a player. As I've said, I don't think a switch this early within a position group at or near an ideal weight would cause any kind of bust or etc.

With his speed and agility numbers, I think Jammer makes a great safety prospect and only a decent corner prospect.
