Good news: no injuries! CB [player]Brandon Norton[/player], 1st round pick last year, gained 2 points after gaining 4 points in training camp. Bad news: My backups (especially on offense) suck. Welcome to the CFL, [player]Blaine Crowley[/player] (8-26 for 48 yards). |

Bad News...- with the new 50% minimum on playing time, I had 90/90 guys starting with 2 minuted left in the game. |

I just realized I don't like the 50% thing for preseason... |

Can you not just flip them around and put your backup/scrub in at starter and play him 100% or what ever % to get down the actual starters playing time? Never have been good with the % playing time, guess thats why I end up with tired players quite often. |

I see that people have rosters that are HUGE (55+) are we supposed to have that in pre-season to stack up and find who is good? What about the costs involved with a contract and then releasing them? It looks like I have a lot of 'money' to spend, does that look right? |

I am a proponent of carrying as many as possible as this improves players that will be FA's during the season. Call me a good league citizen or whatever, but I believe it is my duty to bring these scrubs along while looking for booms. We are allowed to have 60 on our roster during preseason. I like to see if some of the young guys can play or not. Despite what a 19/38 rating says, if a dude is putting up numbers in a game he'll have a shot at a roster spot. Only the top 53 salaries affect your cap. Once we hit the regular season you can only have 53 players on your roster so that is why only the top 53 count during the offseason. If you carry a player through camp and preseason, you only recoup a prorated amount of his salary. If you have money under the cap this year, there's really no reason not to be trying out fringe players as you might just find a guy who can make your team. |

Welcome to the CFL, [player]Blaine Crowley[/player] (8-26 for 48 yards).[/quoteb2c21c7] Your defense actually played really well in the first half. You totally shut down our rushing game and forced 4 straight 3 and outs while [player]Branden Lin[/player] was still in the game. I was happy that our young defensive lineman made so many plays. [player]Kyle Cornyn[/player] and [player]Marshall Kawakami[/player] combined for 2.5 sacks, 6 hurries and a block. It may not mean anything once the regular season rolls around, but [player]Damon Bates[/player] great preseason performance last year earned him the 2nd WR spot, and he played great all season. |

PT of 20% to 30% allowed this to happen. The other factor you want to keep the starters from getting rusty. I also like to see how the starters stack up against the opponent starters. |

I want my starters to play 1 quarter, 2, 3, or 4. Is it really that difficult to program? I never could figure out how the numbers worked and the %'s were a step in the right direction but it stills seems to be a limitation. |
