GG, Smitty. It looked like it was going to turn into another Durham/Charleston shootout early on, but then the defenses got a few stops. You're not done yet - you're only 1 game back of the final wild card spot.

Wow, good game Shooter!

Blaine Hoffman had a great game....completed 25 of 28 for 330 yards and a 151.5 QB rating. He got OPOW.

I am sorry to lose TJ Green for a few weeks though. :(

gg Fastcat.

I thought we had a legtimate shot in this game but we couldn't make a stand on defense apparently. I need to watch the game later but the stats don't look like it will be very interesting.

We didn't suffer any new injuries and the defense is starting to get healthy in time for a promising schedule (save for 1 or 2 tough matchups). However, with the BP coming to town this week and my apparent advantage on paper, the 3 point spread for a home game means the experts think this is a pick 'em game, which in FOF terms means it's a trap game and I'll lose by 10. Sorta makes me nervous when anything shy of a 2-TD victory would be disappointing (no offense Bug).

Some day I will figure this new version out...

We start the second half of the season on a good note. Detroit put in a good fight and the opening kick off return (101 yards!) made the difference, even in the end.

[player]Cornell Beyer[/player] passed for over 300 yards for only the second time in his career, and two years after the first time.

I love the trials and tribulations of developing a rookie QB. This week can be categorized as a tribulation.

GG Weakness.

GG Tulsa. Raffo had a good game, and we made just enough mistakes to lose. It seemed like we had the ball inside the 20 almost all day and came away with no points way too often.

gg Bug! Early on it seemed that this might turn into one of those ugly trap games for us, but our defense righted itself and wound up doing a great job against the pass. Goodwin had a ho-hum game (14/21, 200 yds, 2 TDs) but was effective enough to get it done.

Next up: at Arizona for the first of our twice-annual battles for state bragging rights.

You would be the first to [i68985ec]brag[/i68985ec] about beating Arizona.

It's like winning a race in gym class against the kid with special shoes.

It's like a pulling guard finding only a DB to block on a sweep.

It's like lining up next to a punk in a Civic who revs his engine at you at a stoplight.

It's like trying to get in the pants of a slut from Shreveport.

These things are something you have to do, privately feel bad about doing, and try to move on from without much discussion once accomplished. Bragging should be the furthest thing from your mind at times like these.

Well TT you are only the 3rd team this season to rush for over 100yds on us and I guess I should have stayed with my game plan instead of changing it up :x Overall I am happy where this team is right now and we have a favorable schedule the rest of the way to exceed my preseason prediction.

Good game 3ric.

That opening kickoff return really did make the difference. It was tough, especially when we then went 3 and out on our first possession and you scored right away on your next drive.

Down 14-0 after just a few minutes, I thought it could get ugly.

But then, [player]Shane Hall[/player] started throwing the ball around, and we came back.

Only to lose it in the end, we seemed to run out of gas at the end of the 2nd half.

A shame, as there won't be many chances for us to win ball games.

Also a very costly game, as we lose no less than 4 players to injury for quite a while, 3 of them starters, including our defensive leader [player]Joel Graziani[/player] and our promising young FB, [player]Sherman McElroy[/player] , probably to a career ender (gone for 43 weeks...)

I have a great gameplan set up already.

First, the defense will run around the field like the Keystone Cops tripping over each other while the ball carrier moves about unimpeded.

Second, the OL will actually pass out in utter disbelief that they are on a football field with real CFL players.

Third, our rookie QB will have his new Hollywood girlfriend in the stands, thus assuring him of having a "great" game.

With this 3 pronged attack plan, we cannot Waterlose.

Who knows, this could be the once a year Tucson upset, sort of like Raven Hawk with a quality, well-delivered post.

1 point Raven Hawk.

Bastard.
