Well, we did the best we could to hold, false start, and otherwise penalize ourselves into a loss - but in the end an absurd pass rush (8 sacks with everyone from DE's to DT's to S's to CB's getting in on the action) kept Baltimore from getting anything going and we pulled it out. Thanks to Charleston we're all of a sudden only 1 game out of the division. I'm STILL not getting my hopes up - but.... If I were to win next week then the week 17 game against Durham becomes a battle for the division title (in the case of a tie, we would beat Durham on the Division record). |

That was a disappointing loss. Our defense did their job, holding Charleston to 206 net yards, but our offense turned it over 3 times and our kicker missed a field goal. I wish our coach would have gone for it on 4th down a few times instead of punting it into the endzone. We've now lost 3 out of our last 4 games...not looking good. |

gg thater... I love [player]Marcus Davis[/player] more and more every week. Albany ran all over us, but Davis answered. Albany got nailed with a bunch of penalties and it probably screwed the in the end.... but I'll take it. |

Atlantic City beat us down like the ugly red headed step child of the Yankee division that we are. . .again. Three interceptions by our QB coupled by his penchant for throwing the deep ball in a ball control offense stalled us in many ways. Atlantic City was much more physical, and injured a few of our players. We are young. . .heartache to heartache. . . but we are getting better! |

This is usually a tough match-up for us when healthy but asking Olsen to beat Goodwin in his first start in years was a longshot. I'm also sure the Toro backfield enjoyed the Ah Yat-less vacation day. It's been a long time since Tucson's backfield enjoyed a soft run defense from our front four. gg Fonzie. The lone bright spot is that we are one week closer to finding out if Palmer will ever play in the CFL again. |

With the win over Long Beach, Santa Cruz has established a new team record for wins in a season. Been along time coming, but we might finally have a team worthy. Maybe |

I was really happy to get Cornelius Lester back after being unavailable since week 7. He had a good comeback going 6 for 86 with 2 scores. |

Another classic in the Boise-Seattle series. We dominated the first half, but two lost fumbles stopped us from turning it into a big lead. In fact, [player]Charles Dever[/player] didn't complete a pass for the first 25 minutes of the game, and we still only lead 14-6 at the break. Seattle, of course, came storming back in the 2nd half, missing a 2 point conversion attempt that would've tied it very early in the 4th quarter. The 17-15 lead held up, though, barely, as we dodged bullet after bullet on the remaining possessions - We got a stop just short of field goal range, forced and recovered a fumble on a 19 yard pass that would've put Seattle on our 2, and held on as a 47 yard field goal sailed wide left with 20-some seconds to go. Crazy finish, and the win clinches the division for us. [player]Austin Philyaw[/player] put up his 7th 100 yard game of the year and 4th in a row. He scored 2 TDs, which gives him the league lead with 14 on the ground. He has done pretty much nothing but score TDs since he got to Boise. He's already up to 61, which puts him 12th all time in just his 5th season. |

Golly gee that was a swell game the Outlaws played. It was really super that a punt got blocked and a kickoff was returned for a TD against us. The guys tried real hard but aw shucks it just wasn't their day. |

The lone bright spot is that we are one week closer to finding out if Palmer will ever play in the CFL again.[/quotef77a8c5] gg TT. Early on this one looked like it was going to be a classic back-and-forth, tight Vegas-Tucson matchup. I believe when you tied the score at 7 Lenny was 5/6 for 100 yards (or something similarly absurd), at which point I thought "oh crap, our secondary is in for a looooong day." Fortunately our D was able to clamp down after that. I was particularly pleased with [player]Marcus Crane[/player] and [player]Kent Goodwin[/player]. Both had unexpectedly outstanding games (Crane: 28-158-1; Goodwin 16/20, 207 yds, 4 TDs). Goodwin's day was especially impressive, coming against a talented secondary and without two key receiving weapons in [player]Anthony Torres[/player] and [player]Jake Emerson[/player]. Ah Yat's absence almost certainly was a key to our offense's performance today. Unfortunately we lost SLB[player]Nicky Peko[/player] to a hyperextended knee. We'll need a bye week before the playoffs to ensure he's ready to go, and I *think* we've got one wrapped up already. We can't finish worse than 13-3, and two other division leaders in our conference can't finish any better than 12-4. |
