As the new season draws ever closer, the owners of the Seattle CFL Franchise have made an announcement regarding their new nickname and logo.

The team will henceforth be known as the 'Seattle Spartans' with immediate effect.

Seattle fans were asked to submit their suggestions to the franchise and the new owners decided the 'Spartans' projected the right image for the team and would give the franchise a strong identity for the future.

The new team logo features a Spartan helmet design with the name 'Seattle Spartans' beneath.
The blue and white colors in the logo reflect the team uniform colors.

Fans have responded well to the news and new lines of team merchandise are selling extremely well in mall outlets across the North-West.

Further Graphic work is continuing on a team banner and the results will be released when the project is complete.

I like it, especially since it was my high school nickname (the Spackenkill Spartans - we sucked bad, but the logo was cool )

The Starbucks was fun, but this sounds much better, more professional I guess.

And whoever designed the logo did a nice job on it, congrats!
