[b7ac3460][u7ac3460]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/b7ac3460][/u7ac3460]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes traveled to play the Huntington Beach Capitalists and won by the final score of 27-23. Torpedoes DE [player]Lewis Flynn[/player] was named MVP as he recorded 5 tackles, 3.5 sacks, forced 2 fumbles, and recovered 2 fumbles. Offensively, the Torpedoes pounded it out on the ground, but their passing game was limited. The Torpedoes allowed 3 sacks. The Torpedoes scored 17 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. Defensively, the Torpedoes shutdown the Capitalists passing game, but struggled against the run. The Torpedoes sunk the Capitalists as they recorded 5 sacks and forced 3 fumbles. The Torpedoes shutdown the Capitalists on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 20 points on 4 trips to the Red Zone. The Capitalists have won their 2nd straight game and are in 2nd place of the AC Atlantic. The Torpedoes (2-0) host the Memphis Express (0-2) next week. Can the Torpedoes win their 3rd straight with a home victory or will the Express find a way to win on the road?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "This was another solid win for the team and a great way to start off our season. We will review the game film and continue to find ways to improve. There is a lot of football still left to play and we can't afford to get ahead of ourselves. Hard work now will pay off down the stretch. We have a talented team and have the potential to do some good things this season. We just can't get all caught up in the attention. We need to focus on our upcoming opponent, the Memphis Express, who we host next week. We need to set the tone early on defense, get our ground game going, and play mistake free if we want to have a shot at winning this game!"
