Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes traveled to play the Santa Cruz Privateers and were edged by the final score of 24-20. Privateers CB [player]Bill Schulz[/player] was named MVP as he recorded 2 INT's. Offensively, the Torpedoes were explosive as they recorded 429 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes allowed 3 sacks and turned the ball over 3 times, which made the difference in this game. The Torpedoes made key 3rd down conversions. The Torpedoes scored 10 points on 2 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes controlled the clock and set the pace of the game. Defensively, the Torpedoes limited the Privateers passing game, but struggled against the run. The Torpedoes allowed 21 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes find themselves in 3rd place of the AC ATLANTIC, but are still in contention for the division title or AC Playoffs. The Torpedoes (7-6) travel to play the Baltimore Bombers (6-7) next week in an AC ATLANTIC showdown and need to find a way to win this game. Can the Torpedoes find a way to win on the road or will the Bombers play spoiler with a win at home?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "This was another disappointing loss. We dropped the last two games and our backs are against the wall. We need to continue to fight our way down the stretch. We still have a shot to win the AC ATLANTIC division title or make the AC Playoffs as a Wildcard, but we can't afford any losses. We will review the game film and continue to improve. We travel to play the Baltimore Bombers next week and have to win that game. We need to take their crowd out of the game early on, set the tone on defense, and protect the ball if we want to have a shot at winning this game!"
