It's never to early...

Just a heads up for all the new owners, in past seasons (not last season though), we have generally started the draft and gotten through a handful of picks before the official clocks starts. Honolulu can pick at any time, but they are not obligated to do anything until Friday.

With the extremely shallow free agent pool and the draft falling on a holiday weekend... getting an early start would be a good idea.

And my key concern, I'm out of town this weekend and would love to not have to rank 29 players ;)

I wonder if we should delay the draft a bit given it's Easter weekend. Lots of people are going to be gone or have other commitments and filling out that big of a draft list could be challenging and frustrating for many.

Just a thought.

This has the makings of being the slowest first round ever given the timing of the holiday and what not.

+1. I'm not going to have much time, visiting family, being forced by the wife to go to church... Ugh!!

I propose that we not start the clock officially until Monday, but people can pick before then. Lots of people are too busy on Easter weekend.

We'll just start the draft on Monday. I'll come up with a new schedule tomorrow.

I think Honolulu must still be trying to trade the 1.1.

The first pick in the draft was originally supposed to be made last Friday. As I said in the original post, the first picks used to be made several days before the draft officially started. We'd only get through a few picks, but it gave everyone lots of opportunities to watch and react as the top 4 or 5 players came of the board.

Last seasons first round was very slow and painful. The main problem was that the draft occurred over the Christmas holiday, but I think a significant factor was that we didn't get the early picks, and all the trade talk that goes on with them, done early.
