The draft has officially started. I got the QB going #1 to Honolulu, if Bug keeps the pick. |

How long will the draft generally take. Also, since I couldn't get a first round pick from anyone in trade, I don't have a pick until the 2nd... how long unti lwe get to the 2nd round? |

Granted we have new time limits in place this year and dberner is gone but last year it took us just over 2 days to get through the first round. |

[quote0c90b77="Meatholes"][quote0c90b77="MrBug708"]Went with the CB[/quote0c90b77] I think you got the best player in the draft[/quote0c90b77] I wouldn't write off Chandler or Clark just yet. It's hard to take a firm stance on Clark because he didn't work out at the combine, but the knocks on either of these guys are not as severe as Clemons height, which has been documented to be relevant to CB's. Chandler may not be the best run stopping DE but how many great pass rushing DE's are? Clark's only knock is that we don't know what his combine numbers are. Someone will just have to roll the dice to see if he's the best player in the draft, as he very well might be. |

I suspect that Chandler will have above average run d. His 40 combine is certainly high enough. |

I really don't know about Clark. No combine data, comes from a tiny school and is very raw. Could be a big disappointment, particularly with almost no volatility. He is intriguing, to be sure, but I don't know if I'd pull the trigger on him if he's still there when I pick - and I need a tackle. I just get very nervous rolling the dice with a top 10 pick. |

North Carolina must have had one heck of a defense last season. Both their starting DEs are listed as the top 2 rated players in the draft. |

CC, can you shed some light on what a head coach feels like going into a season with a sub-par collegiate defense? Wocka, wocka! You keep teeing 'em up and I'll keep driving 'em out. |

The league scout that pegged that run defense bar must have been stoned out of his head or lying thru his teeth, or both! yeah, but I believe the 40 time affects pass rush technique and the agility is what matters when it comes to run defense...he does have a really good agility score though (better than his 40 time) |

I forgot to check my chart to see what goes with what. His combines are killer in every area, though. |

Just goes to show how randowm interview results really are and should be used as a tiebreaker way down on the list in most situations. Clemons was the only secondary interview of mine that came back on the good side of HTR. Does this mean all of the secondary guys are overrated? No, it's more likely that the interview process is overrated. |

[quote33b354c="Cheesehead Craig"]Are we going to get a draft file tomorrow?[/quote33b354c] One thought on this is to hold off on processing any draft results until after the draft is finished. This gives everyone some time to possibly trade for or away drafted players if desired. Also, by updating the draft it has a tendancy to possibly alter selections. If someone has a need in one position and has a player bust out a bit, it may force them to draft differently in subsequest rounds. I know this would not be a popluar request, but maybe we should hold off on posting the results until after the draft is complete. Heck maybe it'll even add some incentive to draft faster knowing you can't see your results until we're done with the draft. |

CB Thomason was a definite need pick. I actually had 2 other guys for the 1.12 spot, one of which may have been a better value pick, but all 3 were need picks and not a god way to draft. However, that's my current situation and you do what you hafta do. I went with Thomason due to the drop off at the position. Despite his inability to stop the run, he has the skills he needs to be a solid CB. He may just need to play it on the right side. Besides, his inability to stop the run means he fits right in on our defense. |

Likewise - Thomason was next on my list after Ragland. |
