1 incompletion for Goodwin...really?

I thought I would get some home field calls or at least some breaks on the calls at home...not.

Whatever.

gg Fonz. Your gameplanning must be far superior to mine as I cannot get anything accomplished against you guys. I seem to throw 3-5 picks a game when I play you and I have dialed back my longer throws about 85%, yet I continue to throw long picks. Also, despite what I do on defense and can call every one of your plays when I watch it, I cannot get a pass defense to show up when you're in the red zone. Everyone in the fucking stadium seems to know you are throwing on 1st and goal from the one except my defensive coordinator. Even when it says my d-lineman are all over your QB, he completes the pass. I just don't get it. Hopefully it is just Goodwin being one of the best ever because if this shit keeps up with other QB's I'll need to hang up my gameplanning shoes and call it a career.

edit: Forgot to mention the kudos on your defense. You sure are getting a lot out of not much talent on that side of the ball. To hold one of the top scoring teams to 10 points is a major feat with those players. Maybe when one of us calls it quits in the CFL you can share your defensive secrets. I can't get twice the talent to perform half as well. Another reason to think the game has outgrown me and I should be done.

After back to back close games, another blowout.

Can the Phantoms pull a Browns and upset Hartford next game?

100% career winning percentage.

Can't get much better than that.

The defense has a big 4th down stop in the 4th quarter to give us the ball. Our offense was just good enough to run the clock down and finish the game. GG Jeeber

I don't really do much special on defense, to be perfectly honest. There are a few specific bars I look for at specific positions, but those are mostly common sense kinds of things (e.g., PrT for DEs). I don't much care about the other bars for those guys, so the overall ratings for my defensive players end up being pretty mediocre. I think I'm currently running a modified generic defensive gameplan that Subby had posted on FOFC some time ago, but that doesn't have anything in it to make me think its a Magic Potion of Defense +1, +2 vs. Rounders. ;)

Unfortunately, defensive productivity in Jim's game is almost entirely a product of offense. If you've got a kickass offense, you often get ahead quickly and end up putting opponents in a "must pass to stay in the game" mode. That is usually when a team's offensive adjustments kick in and they start throwing more often and throwing deeper than usual. If they don't have immediate success getting back in the game, bad things start to happen (i.e., the familiars kick in).

In a nutshell, its my belief that the only secret to having a good defense in Jim's conceptualization of football is to have a very good offense. And in Gindinworld, that starts with the QB. So, in a very real way, my defense has outperformed its apparent talent level for many years due to Goodwin.

Yes, but talent-wise it is a shadow of some of your recent defenses which, dare I say, rivaled that of your offense.

Dynomite QB[player]Marcus Garibaldi[/player] is a legend of the game as [player]Kent Goodwin[/player] will be.
