The Sacramento Dragons announce the resigning of three restricted free agents and that they had reworked the contracts of three others during stage 2 of the 2004 free agency.
LT Michael Bishop, LG Gene Benton, and NT Duan Gardner, three role players, all agreed to base contracts that will pay them $350,000 for the 2004 season. Their signing brings depth at key positions on the offensive and defensive line.
The Dragons also reworked the contracts of safeties Rodrick Gonzales and Marvin Cundiff, and of star running back Alexis Rounds. The three rworked contracts allowed the team to save close to $2.5 millions in cap space for the 2004 season.
While these signings were the only ones made by the team in stage 2, it's being rumoured that the team is trying to make a splash in free agency, offering contracts to several high prized players.
