sure. Ok, its not optional, pretty harsh world we live in these days.  Anyway,Im pretty sure VD is not a euphemism. A euphemism is "an inoffensive expression that is substituted for one that is considered offensive" to quote from the WordReference dictionary. VD is not substituting to someone offensive, it is just an acronym, or abbreviation, to make the expression easier for most people to deal with. But hey, Im foreign so maybe Im wrong/ anyway, thx for the welcome, oldtimer |

And by being "welcomed" I mean being given a less-than-flattering nickname and being given a hard time for your first two seasons by the vets. It's somewhat of a tradition around here and has been known to weed out the men from the boys. For some unjust reason, the more active rookies get a bigger dose so consider it a compliment and a good measure of your acceptance into the fraternity. |
