As the semi-official CFL Assclown at Large and chair of the Asshat Committee, it is my duty to assign pledge nicknames.

These nicknames will be updated as we go but I have a few of the CFL rookie names already:

[u2cb2751]St. Louis

Frankly, I think the St. Louis owner must choose a new name. He's dabbling in copyright infringement and a lawsuit is all but assured.

It's cute how you think it's optional.

This is football, hazing isn't tolerated but euphemisms are..consider yourself "welcomed" to the league, rook.

sure.

Ok, its not optional, pretty harsh world we live in these days.

Anyway,Im pretty sure VD is not a euphemism.
A euphemism is "an inoffensive expression that is substituted for one that is considered offensive" to quote from the WordReference dictionary.
VD is not substituting to someone offensive, it is just an acronym, or abbreviation, to make the expression easier for most people to deal with.
But hey, Im foreign so maybe Im wrong/

anyway, thx for the welcome, oldtimer

You being "welcomed" to the league is a euphemism for hazing...but I appreciate the effort.

And by being "welcomed" I mean being given a less-than-flattering nickname and being given a hard time for your first two seasons by the vets. It's somewhat of a tradition around here and has been known to weed out the men from the boys. For some unjust reason, the more active rookies get a bigger dose so consider it a compliment and a good measure of your acceptance into the fraternity.

Believe it or not, this really is TT's way of making newcomers feel welcome here. Enjoy his hospitality!

Yeah TT has that effect on people. What was the guy's name that didn't last a day, TT gave him some shit in draft chat and he was outta here. That was some funny shit!

Anyway, I tried being a smartass in my last response, and it ended up biting me in the ass.

Eureka!

VD has stumbled across a team slogan:

Death Valley Copperheads: The CFL's deadliest bite in the ass.

I love it. Simple yet sheer genius.

[u885ac68]Durham - Beauforsure[/u885ac68]: Burnham

This one is a little deeper but the name reminds me of Bo Burnham's Bo Fo Sho. Since Burnham is close to Durham I thought it would fit. Besides, Aryan Librarian might be offensive and Wordsmithsonian is too long.
