Does anyone know what happens when a team offers a free agent a contract, and that puts them over the cap? I know of at least 1 team that is making large offers to free agents even though they don't have the cap space. |

If the FA attempts to accept an offer that would put a team over the cap, the offer will be withdrawn and the player will select the next best offer. |

No one is there yet but only the 53 highest paid players count towards the cap as well. I've had tons of money in offers out before but it only counts if they accept - not always an easy feat. |
