Game Report: Atlantic City 3, Chicago 16
Week 3

PLAYER OF THE GAME
SLB Edwin Stoner

Stoner continues to impress. In a week where the ACI defense held Chicago to less than 100 rushing yards and 253 total yards, Stoner made plays all over the field. He recorded 7 solo tackles, assisted on 2 more, and had 1 QB hurry and 1 pass defense.

MISSING IN ACTION
Offense
This is going to happen more often than not with this offensive group and today was one of those bad days. QB Tyrone Dillon was 19/48 for 121 yards with two interceptions. Five dropped passes didn’t help much. The running game was just as bad with 24 carries for 91 yards.

TURNING POINT
Even with the pathetic offensive performance, the Phantoms were still in this game with just under five minutes left trailing 13-3. It was 4th and 13 from the Chicago 13 (pretty much 4th and goal) and ACI decided to go for it rather than kick a field goal and pull within a touchdown. The 4th down pass fell incomplete (as did passes on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down). This was a terrible move by the coaching staff and will be addressed before week 4.

If YOU MISSED IT
• Despite having one of the best centers in the CFL, ACI was unable to run the ball up the middle versus Chicago. 10 carries for 19 yards is not getting the job done.
• Both Chicago and Atlantic City were awful on 3rd down conversions. Chicago was 3/19 and ACI were 3/18.
• WLB J.C. Morrison, one of the big free agent signings this offseason, was on the active roster for the first time this year but didn’t play.

BY THE NUMBERS
0 - Kick return yards for Chicago
30.2 - Tyrone Dillon’s QB rating
0 - Sacks by ACI

Rookie Watch (new feature)
• SLB Edwin Stoner – 7 tckl (Season – 19 tckl, 3 asst, 1 hurry, 2 ps defn)
Player of the week.
• ILB Zack Koethe – 6 tckl, 4 ps defn (Season – 10 tckl, 1 asst, 5 ps defn, 1 ff)
Koethe got his second start and was very active.
• RG Curtis Babinchak – 2 keyBl, 2 BlOpp, 1 SkA (Season – 6 keyBl, 7 BlOpp, 2 SkA)
Not a good day for the running game.
• TE Graham Philip – 2 rec., 15 yards, (Season – 5 rec., 31 yards, 2 BlOpp)
ACI is looking to get the ball to Philip more in the future.
• P Howard Doyle – 9 p., 43.6 avg., 40.1 net, 52 lg, 2 In20 (Season – 20 p., 40.2 avg., 36.2 net, 52 lg, 9 In20)
Doyle saw a lot of action and responded with his best game so far.

UP NEXT
@ New Orleans (3-0)
