Game Report: Atlantic City 9, Seattle 13
Week 2

Another tough loss for ACI as they start the season 0-2.

PLAYER OF THE GAME – OLB Edwin Stoner

Despite giving up way too many rushing yards, the Phantoms defense only allowed 13 points. One of the big reasons was the play of Stoner (12 tackles, 2 assists).

MISSING IN ACTION – Run Defense

Last week, it was a terrible pass rush. This week, it was poor run defense. Seattle gained 391 yards, including 173 on the ground. You can’t give up 4.8 yards per carry to your opponent. In addition, Seattle had six runs of 10+ yards.

WHAT IF . . .

ACI had gone for it on 4th and 8 instead of kicking a field goal late in the game? The coaches believe in the defense more than the offense and this week it backfired as they never got the football back.

4-8-SEA31 (4Q: 02:58) Dixon Finch attempted a 48 yard field goal and succeeded. Seattle 13, Atlantic City 9

If YOU MISSED IT

• Seattle reached the magical 35:00+ possession point and won the game. ACI only had the ball for 24:21.

• Neither team won the field position battle. ACI’s average drive starting point was their own 24. For Seattle it was their own 23.

• FB Nolan O’Neal was signed for his blocking skills. He showed his value in the 1st quarter

2-4-SEA30 (1Q: 02:49) Adam Richard ran inside the left guard for 6 yards. Tackled by DT Heath Washington, assisted by CB Arnie Markel. Key block delivered by Nolan O'Neal. O'Neal ran over Roger Golden to set up the play..

• Harvey Engelke watch - 8 car., 35 yards, 4.38 yd. avg

BY THE NUMBERS

10/16 - Seattle on third down

1 - Total sacks in the game
