Game Report: Atlantic City 6, Albany 9
Week 3

Another tough loss for ACI as they start the season 0-3. (very little editing needed for this headline!)

PLAYER OF THE GAME – DT Neil Farr
We have to give the award to someone so Farr gets the nod. In the second half, he dominated his blocker and finished with 3 hurries, 4 knockdowns and a forced fumble.

1-10-ALB35 (3Q: 06:13) Tyrell LeCroy ran inside the right tackle for 0 yards. Tackled by DT Neil Farr. The ball was fumbled and recovered by ALB Brad Osborne to the ALB35.

1-10-ALB25 (4Q: 02:19) Rondell Whiting pass fell incomplete, intended for WR Shaun Reitz. DT Neil Farr simply tossed Darrin Peay aside to reach the quarterback and hurry the throw.

MISSING IN ACTION – Offense

For the second straight game, the ACI was held to under 10 points. I am not sure how much of that was the opponent or just the terrible Phantoms offense. 221 yards is a horrible offensive output.

WHAT IF . . .

Two moments summed up the game for ACI:

1- Unable to score a touchdown after a first and goal on the Albany 2 yard line.

1-2-ALB02 (2Q: 02:00) Harvey Engelke ran around left end for -1 yards. Tackled by DT Travis Mesler.
2-3-ALB03 (2Q: 01:44) Rico Firth pass fell incomplete, intended for WR Trent Blackwell. DE Reggie Rathbone hurried the quarterback into a bad throw.
3-3-ALB03 (2Q: 01:37) Harvey Engelke ran around right end for 1 yard. Tackled by S Irving Kinney.
4-2-ALB02 (2Q: 01:19) Dixon Finch attempted a 19 yard field goal and succeeded. Atlantic City 6, Albany 0

2- QB Rico Firth fumbling on his own 16 yard line giving Albany an eventual field goal.

2-8-ACI22 (3Q: 14:16) Rico Firth sacked by OLB Junior Seelig and ILB Vernon Bouchette for a loss of 6 yards. Sack allowed by Curtis Babinchak. The ball was fumbled and recovered by ALB Joel Ford on the ACI16.

If YOU MISSED IT

• You didn’t miss much. This game was a snooze job.

• Harvey Engelke watch - 10 car., 27 yards, 2.70 yd. avg

BY THE NUMBERS

5 - Combined Field Goals

0 - Combined Touchdowns

Don't worry Rick, we are complete pushovers.. Harvey Engelke will have over 200 yards of total offense against us, we cant stop anything..
